Had mine for a couple of years now and never looked back. The guy who came to the house didn't try to sell us anything, and the guy who fitted it was quick and courteous. All in all a pleasure doing business with them.

Was told that I might have to put a ball lock on entry door to my apt. if chair didn't have the proper distance from door to arm of chair. My problem would have been to leave door unlocked. I said this should have been fixed when computerized measurements were taken, not during installation. Installers got a little defiant when i told them this was unacceptable. I was told I could sign off on leaving it the way it came out but that would void warranty. No i don't think so! The installers worked the fitting of the rails so the proper clearance was met and all ended well. Was never told that the ball lock could be an option, for 12 grand I don't think so....

Almost bot Acorn, but was impressed by the enthusiasm of the employees in the MA headquarters, Stannah Stairs should have an adjustable speed selection to make everybody happy.,

The lift has been in for a year know and is running fine. I am a little surprised the only time I herd from Stananah Stairlifts is when the maintenance contract was up for renewal. I was under the impression a tech would be out in the first 6 months to go over the lift and check it early failures, that never happened. I did not renew the maintenance contract because the lift comes with a ten year warranty on the motor, lift and rails. Other than the lack of contact during the first year of use the lift is great. It makes my mother, 92 years old, much more independent.
