Raised my rent $80.00
After two years they raised the rent $40.00 in July 2026 and $40.00 again in Oct. 2026. They cannot justify $80.00 increase and now I worry they are going to continue to raise me $40.00 every few months.

Went to pay my bill today had an altercation with Deja in the office she became verbally abusive. Deja told me she was going to evict me because she didn't like my attitude I guess this is how sroa treats its customers with verbally abusive employees. When I asked to speak to a supervisor/manager she told me there was nobody higher up than her. This verbally abusive employee needs to be fired. Her name is Deja

I strongly recommend avoiding Storage Rentals of America. My monthly rent has been increased three times in just two years, going from $108 to $122, then $138, and now an outrageous $178 per month for the exact same 10' × 10' unit. That is an increase of almost 65%, with no improvement in the unit or service to justify it. The most recent jump alone—from $138 to $178—is nearly a 29% increase at once. This pricing strategy feels designed to lure customers in at a reasonable rate and then repeatedly raise the rent once moving everything to another facility becomes difficult and inconvenient. Customers should not have to live with constant, unpredictable price increases simply because the company assumes they are trapped. The facility itself may be adequate, but these aggressive increases completely destroy any sense of value or trust. Before renting here, understand that the advertised price may have very little connection to what you will be paying later. After this experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I don't do negative reviews often. It has to be egregious. This one is. I have been with the same storage company in Bay St. Louis for a decade after dad died, and we rented out the house. They've changed ownership multiple times, but are now owned by Storage Rentals of America. Moved to a smaller unit and signed a $191/mo lease agreement in late May. Received a $66 (33%) rate increase starting in September. I specifically asked if this was the annual rate until we renewed next year and was told yes. The manager even looked at rates by unit to get the best price for me. Absolutely will be moving out ASAP. I should have moved out completely because they were doing this before we signed a lease. I made an assumption (yeah, I know) that it was for to our not having a signed lease after they bought out the old company. Do not recommend.

The rental office placed a lock on the storage unit that I rented. The complex has listed office hours on the door. When I reached the facility the office was closed so I was unable to get the lock switched. That happened to me 7 times in the pasted month. I would contact the customer service line and no one would answer there phone when they would reach out to fix the problem. So I finally had to get a lock Smith to remove it and paid additional 200 plus just to get my unit open. The manager called and stated that they wont refund my money and apologized for the inconvenience. They have cost me additional exspense. Will never rent from this company again.

Storage Rentals of America 9006 E 22nd Terrace Kansas City MO 64126 Do not put your belongings in this location, it will just get broke into and the property manager could care less about it. not helpful at all. this place has had mass amount of break ins and they just keep letting it happen, call to ask about an update on the insurance claim and get told i dont know what to tell you, you would think as a property manager he would know what to tell a customer, but they seriously do not care. just be warned, holes in the fencing all around just welcoming thieves to come in and take your belongings. The Property Manager will lie lie lie to you and he does absolutely nothing to help resolve the issue. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION April 7- Storage Unit was Broke into June 4- SROA CLAIMS team still has yet to receive the insurance claim that needs to be submitted by the PROPERTY MANAGER.

When we first rented this unit, the facility was not owned by SROA. Since then, the price has steadily increased to the point where our monthly bill is now $173. Meanwhile, the exact same size unit is currently advertised on their website for $19.95. When we asked about this, the only solution offered was to move all of our belongings into a different unit and “start over” at the lower rate. That might make sense if they planned to rent our current unit at the higher price, but they don’t. Instead, a new customer will likely get that same unit for $19.95 while existing customers continue paying significantly more. Be aware that rent increases can happen multiple times a year, and they add up quickly. If you fall behind, fees escalate fast—by the second month, the balance can be several times the original amount. It appears this company is acquiring storage facilities in many areas, which limits alternatives. If you have other options available, it’s worth considering them.

I rented a climate controlled storage unit at this facility in June of 2023. I went to move out of my unit in February of this year. The first thing I noticed upon entering the building, was the building was damp, and ha d a strong smell of mold and mildew. I got to my unit, and immediately noticed upon entering there was mold all over my items. I immediately notified property management, and they were dismissive. I filed a claim with the protection plan I was paying them for, and the claim was denied. I am now being told that the unit is not, and was not climate controlled - But it was rented to me as a climate controlled unit, and they charged a premium for this unit being that it was climate controlled. Not only is SROA negligent, not maintaining proper temperature and humidity levels, they are potentially fraudulent.
