The customer service is great, but the goggles were terrible. They’re really painful to wear. They’ll go right in the trash. Five start for customer service One star for the product

I am impressed that the lamp is so sturdy and well made. I am also impressed that the life of the bulbs is so long , and can easily be changed. I am DISSAPPOINTED that it takes SEVERAL weeks for the vitamin D level to rise, like 3 months. And then the level is BARELY into the normal range.

The mechanical timer is about a minute short. When set to 5 minutes it runs for about 4 minutes. I assume the spring will stretch and over time become more accurate. The original startup requires a number of steps. Those steps should be in a quick start guide and written by a professional instruction writer.

With this lamp you really just gotta believe and have faith, & hope that it’s working, since they noted you get 2300iu from 5 minute sessions. We only can do a session every other day so that’s only about 6,900-9,000 IU in a week. And that’s honestly horrible. If u vitamin d deficiency. Really need 5,000-10,000iu a day to increase vitamin d levels. And this was $600. A lot of money , for all the work u gotta put in compared to just taking 1 pill. But I can’t do supplements. So I took my chance. But I’m going to give it 2 more months to see but if u can’t use this everyday which they recommend u don’t I don’t see this being beneficial.

With oral supplements, we are required to take a significantly higher dose because the majority of that vitamin D does not actually get absorbed into your system. Instead, most of that vitamin D just gets processed through our system and is passed in our urine. When getting vitamin D from UV exposure to the skin, it is far more effective. With each session, that full 2,300 IUs is absorbed into the body to effectively raise vitamin D levels. I hope this helps!

The lamp is good and functions as it should, but the delivery agent was disappointing. UPS delivered my package late. It should have been delivered on Friday the 18th or at the latest Monday the 21st, but got delivered Friday the 25th.

It is too early to comment on the efficacy of the unit. It does appear to be sturdily built and was packed very well for shipping. The nose pieces of the goggles are sharp and hurt where they make contact with the nose. For the overall quality of the unit you would have expected the goggles to have been designed better, similar to those used by swimmers. A suggestion for future models, when the timer stops, the unit should "flip" to off. This would prevent the accidental turning on of the unit when the timer is reset for the next time session and the goggles have not yet been put on.

Your guidance is pitiful. You tell us to determine our skin type and then follow the exposure schedule below. I know that I have skin type IV and that my vitamin d obtained is much slower than someone with type II or III skin type. I got sun all year from Mar thru Oct. I use the D minder app. I paid no attention to your guidelines because they are not at all helpful. I use it every day the same as I used the sun. You could let us know how much vitamin d the average person would get for each minute of the sun lamp by skin type. I believe the lamp is fine and will do a good job.

We appreciate your feedback. While this lamp does emit UV rays, it cannot be directly compared to the sun because it is used at only 15 inches from your skin. The recommended usage is what has been found to be safest for the skin while also being effective for raising vitamin D levels.

Thank you for sharing with us. It sounds like one or two bulbs may have shifted during shipping. Please make sure they are all installed properly - the label on each bulb should be facing straight forward and lined up perfectly even with each other.
