For the most part this trip was awesome. I would definitely encourage anyone coming to Brazil to learn maybe a few words or phrases in Portuguese. The country has so much to offer and I learned a lot. Everything went well as far as south American tours . Thanks my favorite tour was the jeep tour and all the guides to great.. Thanks!!!

Our tours, driver and guide were wonderful in Medellin but no one picked us up at the airport in Cartagena. We took a cab and met our guide there. We had 8 hour city tour and it was a bit long. Going to the mud bath was about a 2 hour tour. Glad it was short not that interesting. Would suggest Rosario Islands. Chiva bus tour was a lot of waiting around to pick up people and all in Spanish. Our guide in Bogota was 30 min. late and we waited another 20 Min for are driver which made us 1 hour for our cooking class which was wonderful even though we missed most of market tour due to being late. Our guide in Bogota barely spoke English and never barely or could answer our questions. I felt all is what we needed was a driver there and we could do the rest on our own. As you see some highs but also lows!

The trip you put together for us was spectacular, and when we lost a passport, you took care of getting us to the embassy, replacing the passport, and continuing with our trip.

I would give this company 5 stars, but for between the finalized travel itinerary of May, 2017 and our trip start in March, 2018...three of the four hotels were changed by SouthAmerica.travel, and all of our specifically selected airline seats to and from South America, on tickets arranged by SouthAmerica.travel's booking agent, were changed without us being notified. We only found out by looking at the airline site. The hotel changes necessitated new research by us regarding local restaurants, menus, etc. that were very important to us, and resulted in additional on-going stress. The reasons given were "upgrades due to the seat snafu", "safer areas", or what we might like better. On the other hand, when our flight to South America was canceled by the airline due to a blizzard, the SouthAmerica.travel emergency staff REALLY kicked in during the night, and managed to get us rebooked so that we only lost 2 days of our vacation, and were able to catch up with the itinerary. Our agent spent a GREAT deal of time with me on the trip details, answering questions, even making dinner reservations at a chosen restaurant, and ensuring the restaurant would be serving dinner at 5:30pm and giving us "free" transfers to the restaurant because he had changed the original local-to- the-restaurant hotel to one in a different neighborhood. His response to questions was always within a reasonable time frame. The final "travel voucher" which governed the trip was clear and concise. The voucher generation program however does not interface "real time" with the actual flight schedule changes that may occurr between booking and travel date. We recommend independently reviewing flight/schedules, using the airline locator codes supplied when the trip is booked. The ground ops is supposed to keep aware of flight schedule changes, and inform travelers of changes to any pickup times. SouthAmerica.travel contracts with various agencies in the three countries included on our itinerary who act as "ground operations"; transfers, tour guides; etc. This process worked pretty seamlessly through the various countries, airports, transfers, tours; with the exception of the respective ground crew not seeming to be aware of the flight schedule change between Santiago, Chile and Mendoza, Argentina, and a ferry crossing ticket to Uruguay which the respective ground crew thought we had purchased, but that SouthAmerica.travel had purchased for us and that turned out was available at the terminal; linked to our passport number. The situation was resolved quickly by the ground ops on the way to the ferry terminal. Most importantly, we felt that SouthAmerica.travel and the various ground operations "had our backs" and as older travelers, we felt safe and secure with all the emergency numbers provided on this "daunting" trip-which we never had to use. The ground crews, guides, drivers all were friendly and kind. Finally, our agent quickly facilitated the documentation we needed to complete the travel insurance claim process for the portion of our trip canceled by the blizzard. We would recommend SouthAmerica.travel.

SouthAmerican travel was excellent to work with in every way: excellent recommendations and very responsive both in the planning phase and during the trip. We worked with Clara once before and we were extremely pleased with both trips.

So far, so good... It has been a pleasure working with Charlotte, putting together an itinerary for our upcoming trip. Charlotte has offered good suggestions and has been quick to answer any and all questions. Can't wait to get there!

My daughter and I did our third trip through South America. Travel. that should say it all ! But I'll continue with some details. Rebecca was our agent who provided Amazing Ideas, adventures, sights and wonderful places to stay. Our pickups and transfers were on schedule, tours well worth taking, and some hotels worth writing home about. This was our third trip where we went to Antarctica Chile and Colombia. Our lives are changed after expedition cruising to Antartica! We have been working our way through the different countries in South America and will continue to use South America travel. Rebecca is friendly accommodating genuine well-traveled and open to alternate ideas. I've traveled a lot in my life and she is the easiest most knowledgeable agent I've ever worked with. Highly recommend her services at South America travel!! I know we'll be back!

Had excellent service from SA Travel and it’s local partners in Chile and Argentina. Izabela listened to our desired places to visit, and put together a perfect itinerary for us. Hotels were in the category we wanted and were perfect for us. A small glitch at one hotel was promptly and beautifully corrected! Thank you! All tours and transfers were seamless and smooth. Making for relaxed and stress free travel for a jam packed itinerary. Scenery was pretty awesome too! Many thanks to the SA team and partners. Highly recommended.
