Booking with SouthAmerica.travel was an excellent experience! Claudia took the time to really listen to what my family wanted to experience on our trip to Brazil and she came up with different itineraries until it fit us perfectly. Very easy process and everything was booked within 1 week!

I do not have enough words to express how incredible our experience with South America.travel was. From start to finish, every little detail was absolutely perfect! Simone, our travel agent, helped us plan the PERFECT trip and was so helpful in making sure we were ready for our trip to Peru! Once we got there, the experience only got better! Our guides were incredible in every single place, and they always made sure we knew exactly what we were doing each day. Our guides made sure we had all our tickets and arrangements in place, so all we had to do was show up! The guides were also incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about each and every place we visited! I cannot speak highly enough of this experience and SouthAmerica.travel. They made everything so easy and made Peru even better!!

20 days trip to South America

We have nothing but wonderful things to say about the folks at SouthAmerican Travel, Sean in particular. We have just returned from a 17 day trip to Ecuador and Peru and it couldn't have been better! Let me start by saying that we have been fiercely independent travelers all of our lives and have seen most of Europe over the years as well as most of the U.S. We have never hesitated to plan ourselves, book our own flights/hotels/VRBOs/cars, all of it! We find the whole thing fun and part of the adventure. This South America trip was a celebration of retirement (we are 58 and 65) and for some reason the logistics just seemed daunting. We found Sean at South American Travel and he was able to help us navigate a combination of private guides, free days, and lots of the logistics of our two countries. It was perfect! We had already booked our flights into and out of South America from Denver, so he worked with our existing dates and knew what our "must do's" were. At every step, it was organized, problem-free and we can honestly say that this trip would have NEVER been as fulfilling without this help. We explored Quito and the surrounding towns in Ecuador, took a 3 day cruise to the Galapagos, and then really spent time in Peru with our local guide Alexis who was a phenomenal historian regarding the Incan empire, the ruins, and was invaluable as we hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Again we had some free time to explore Lima, the Sacred Valley, but the guidance added the icing to the cake! Overall, if you are considering the use of South American travel...don't hesitate, just do it. It'll take your good vacation and turn it into an experience of a lifetime!

A very bad experience & I cannot understand how they have got good ratings elsewhere. I arrived in Santiago after a 14 & a half hour flight at 8.00am & after a long wait at customs etc I was met by the guide. I asked to go to the hotel first to get cleaned up etc & was told that check in was at 3.00pm. He stated that the so called trip around the city usually started in the afternoon & he appeared to be totally incapable of making any kind of unilateral decision without phoning his employer. As this was on a Sunday there was no quick response & it was left to me to reorganise the time accordingly where a cursory trip around the capital was completed & I was left at the hotel. In conclusion I am not going to waste my time going through all of the issues. It is enough to say that South.America.travel abdicated all responsibility down to inadequate (& I assume poorly paid) local guides who on the whole were not capable of carrying out their duties. I trust the Company will contact me directly to discuss how they will rectify a situation where a customer was charged over $7000USD for a holiday that in my opinion was valued at the $2000USD mark.
