The purchase was made March 18th, and was finally delivered around June 16th. I ultimately requested a refund and was told it would be issued in some weeks. It was not. The bag I was no longer interested in finally arrived though! #disbelief

You guys are crooks! You will be reported & investigated. You take people’s money & do not ship their items! You have my order number as I have sent several emails and you responded with providing me with a tracking number that doesn’t even exist. And the fact o am here to receive my order. Don’t be pretentious because I called you out on here and you don’t want your company to look bad. Look for my email I sent 3/4 weeks ago regarding my number as the customer service has it & give me my refund! How can you say you don’t say returns are not possible if the customer hasn’t even received the item?? PSA to customers … do not order from this company! Don’t say I didn’t tell you! You’ve been warned!! Run from their website and look for upstanding clothing companies that don’t rip you off your well earned money! This was your email response below to me a few weeks ago: On Tue, Jun 14 2022, at 11:03 PM, Sepia Boutique Hi Nicola, I'm so sorry but, unfortunately, returns are not possible as per our returns and exchanges policy. However, if there's a manufacturing defect or sizing issue, we'll be happy to set up an exchange for the same item in the same color (only size changes are possible). Please let me know if you'd like to proceed with this.

Hello Nicola, Thank you for raising your concerns to our attention. Honestly, with the shipping delays that plagued this company in the past 4 months, it is truly understandable for our customers to think this way. As a response to the delays, we are almost done acquiring two new warehouses that will be based in New Jersey and California. Having warehouses within the country is long-term solution to the shipping delays that has been the bane of this company for several months now. We understand how hard people are working to earn their money and we'll never have the hear to keep it from them. It goes against what we stand for, and that is genuine concern for our customer's happiness. Please present to us the proper 6-digit order number for your items so we can have a look and verify it. Once done, we can process the refund for you. Looking forward to hear back from you. My order took 4 months .

Hello Phylicia, We appreciate your feedback! We are so disappointed in ourselves for the extremely delayed shipments that were caused by backlogged orders. We were behind 6 to 8 weeks in order fulfillment and this is truly a moment we all feel ashamed of. As a long-term solution to the delays plaguing us, we are proud to say that we're almost done setting up 2 new warehouses in New Jersey and California. Once both warehouses are fully operational, we can all let out a humongous sigh of relief for it shall end the delays once and for all. We know this might be a bit too much to ask considering the troubles we've put you through, but we pray and hope that you decide to give us a chance for redemption. We wouldn't want anything else. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING WITH THEM it’s a scam. Placed in order back in march, never received the item. Request a refund in May still have yet to receive a full refund. Instead they write me a long email saying that the only way to receive a refund is through PayPal. Requested that the refund be issued to original method of payment which was not PayPal. They still insisted on me providing them with my PayPal acct to receive a refund.

Hello there! It is to our great dismay that we learn of your circumstances. It's true that the delays have caused a negative impact on our customers' trust and confidence in us, but we can assure you we're doing everything in our power to turn things back to normal or at least be acceptable. The payment gateway problems also doesn't make things any easier. Our only workaround option for refunds as of now is via PayPal as we are unable to process refunds back to your original payment method unless your order was placed using a PayPal account. We sure hope you can provide us with the PayPal email so we can send you your hard earned money back. It is not within our customs to keep a dissatisfied customer's money. Looks like my situation is the same as practically everyone else! I ordered a dress in February and sent an email in April to see why it hadn’t shipped yet. I got some excuse about shipping delays, which I tried to be understanding of. I received 10 off my order and was told it would be shipping soon. May comes around and still nothing. I requested a full refund at that point. It’s been over a month since I requested the refund and all I get is excuses on why it won’t go through or they’re following up with some Ops team on the request. It doesn’t make any sense and it’s extremely disappointing to see this happening to not only myself but so many others. People work hard for their money and this company is just stealing from us! Edit per reply from the company: I had already provided my PayPal information for a refund and it’s still been over a month and counting. I have been sending a follow up email weekly and I get the same excuse that they are waiting on confirmation of refund details from Ops team. I’m going to have to file a claim with my CC

Hi there, dear customer! We are deeply saddened to hear the predicament you're in. We do take responsibility for this and we shall make no excuses. Shipments have been delayed due to backlogged orders of up to 6 to 8 weeks. As a countermeasure to these, we have been working real hard to acquire two new warehouses in NJ and CA to dramatically cut shipping times. You may not know this, but Souk + SEPIA has suppliers in Asia, being a marketplace of curated pieces from artisans around the globe. We understand that money do not grow on trees and want to process a refund for you right away. We can make that possible by having your PayPal email instead as we cannot normally process refunds like usual due to some technical errors with the payment gateways we have been using. We would greatly appreciate any response from you. Hoping a pleasant day for you! Hi VJ, Thank you for writing in! We are utterly displeased to hear how your experience went and we are really sorry for the ordeal. This isn't the kind of treatment we want for any of our customers. The delays have been caused by backlogged orders for 6 to 8 weeks. It is one hell of a road bump, but we are happy to announce that orders are now beginning to ship out. As a matter of fact, upon checking, we see that your order has been delivered on the 18th of June, as per the tracking link we have which, as far as we know, have also been sent to you. Please do check your mailbox as the tracking number states it's been delivered there. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns. We'd be more than happy to help! Wishing you a pleasant rest of the evening! With Gratitude, The souk + SEPIA Customer Gratitude Team E: [email protected] W: www.soukandsepia.com IG: @soukandsepia

Hello Erin, Thank you for writing in! We are absolutely sorry for leaving you the impression that we're a scam company. We would like to see if you have already received your refund. It should only take 3 to 5 business days for the funds to settle back to your card. We also would like to look further into this case, so your order ID and email address is necessary for us to move forward. Please do respond to our request here in Trustpilot so we can start fixing what needs to be fixed. Never again! These ppl are from China perpetrating as black owned company to get our money. Placed order back in April & it still hasn’t been fulfilled. Shut them down at this point.
Response from souk + SEPIAJun 17, 2022
Hi Simon, We appreciate your letting us know what you think about us. Others may see this as negative, but we thank you for allowing us a chance to be understood. We understand your frustration, but we're a 100% legitimately black led and owned business headquartered in New York. Sure, some of our items do ship from parts of Asia as we are an online marketplace with suppliers across the globe, this doesn't mean that we are from China. We hear your cries of help and have been working on the acquirement of two warehouses in NJ and CA to significantly reduces shipping times. We would really like to take a closer look at this case. We shall process your refund once you reply back to us with your order number and email address. We are looking forward to hearing back from you so we can begin smoothening things out!
