My indie rock song was placed on a playlist of incompatible genre including Rap/Urban and also an 80s/90s/00s 'hits' type playlist. None of this helps the algorithm whatsoever, so it was a largely pointless excersise

The first song I placed with songtools got poor placements and the second song got no placements. I always do a lot of research before submitting to playlist pitchers to ensure they don't use bots, which songtools doesn't. So my low rating of Songtools here has more to do with the fact that it's not a good fit for me. But it's at least not a scam (I don't think) and they're not using bots, so they've got that going for them. My genre is a bit niche (Christian music), so I guess my recommendation is that if you're a Christian artist don't use this service unless in the future they add more playlists to the roster of lists they pitch music to.

I'm writing to express significant concerns about the performance of Songtools' promotion service. Since engaging their company's services, my Spotify plays had declined dramatically from 183 plays per day to just 82 plays per day over the past week. I was only using SongTools at this time to see if they were better than the last company I used. This represents a 55% decrease rather than the gradual growth I paid for. To verify that the issue was with their service and not my content, I contacted the previous promotion company that uses ads to promote songs to actual people online instead of playlists. Within just 48 hours, my daily plays increased to 353, more than quadruple what I'm currently receiving and nearly double my baseline before using Songtools. This comparison clearly demonstrates that their service failed to deliver any meaningful promotional value. Instead of growth, I've experienced a significant decline while paying for their services. I also noticed that any playlists my song was placed in never stayed in the list for very long. This indicates to me that the placement was just to show that the song was placed and not intended to help me gain listeners.  UPDATE 11/5/2025 After my post here on Trustpilot, the performance of my track improved. My campaign ended. The plays for just my track peaked at 222, and after the campaign, they leveled to 189. To protect my numbers, I had gone back to the previous promotion company to launch another track at the same time, I had a great increase in my Spotify follower number. It is currently at 484. So, I think at least for comparisons, although not apples to apples, the improvement to my Spotify account was not due to the campaign for playlist placements with Songtools. It was due to using Ads with another company. Songtoos had some impact in returning the play count to its previous level for my track, but that has to be validated sometime after the campaign.

Results havent been the worst I've experienced, but the entire process was very complicated and there is clearly a very real risk of landing in botted lists. I still find it difficult to navigate the platform and I spent more time trying to understand it than I did actually using it. The site is extremely buggy and completely dies once every few minutes. Lastly, the number of reviews they've received in the last 2 weeks is a pretty big red flag.

These tools are great if you’re not creative; you want to produce music based on a demand; you fit in the box of preset algorithmic genres. I personally was not able to describe the music I make in a way that gave me an advantage or access to potential listeners. I’m not angry about it. I Would like my money back but the reality is some things require more effort and expertise. if your not in the possession to tour and engage with a potential audience to establish a new style or challenge the norms. Do not expect this platform to take on your cause…..gurus over gangsters

I wish my experience on the site was better. This review isn't related to the service, but the site, because I was never able to get anything to work. Signing in by email failed, even with multiple password reset attempts. I was able to sign in using phone number. I added a few items to the cart, the credit card puchase failed (still unresolved). And trying to verify my email associated with the phone number failed (still unresolved).

Tons of inactive curators taking your budget campaign. Some are legit but it's something like 70% inactive playlists vs. 30% active ones. Please, do a deep cleaning, there are a lot of people out there who are legit and you can access them using other playlisting services.
