I do not recommend Sonder stays in Dallas. I had a horrible experience compared to my stay in Detroit. I expected way more. I arrived to my first room and the A/C wasn't working, the bed wasn't made, trash was still in the trash cans & towels were left all over the bathroom. I then had to wait almost 30 minutes for a new room. At checkout, I requested a late checkout time which successfully went through on my end, per the app & I received the confirmation email that my checkout was updated. I received a very rude phone call the morning of checkout that my request didn't go through on "their end" ... when presented with this mishap all I got was an "oh i'm sorry". No discounts, upgrades, refunds or anything was offered for the inconveniences. I will not be staying through Sonder again & I was very excited for this stay.

Avoid this company
Avoid this company. The rooms are not as advertised. I stayed three weeks in London. The place had issue after issue, everything was very dirty when we asked for it to be cleaned. No response, then the lights when out, and then water leaked from the ceiling. They said they would issue a 50% refund for those nights but never did and then when we left they charge us for an issue with the flat that was there when we got to the place and would not give us the money back or ever issue the promised refund. They are a very bad company and should be avoided at all costs. We used them because the place seemed nicer than Airbnb options but never have I ever had problems like this before. Just use Airbnb.

**AVOID** using this company to book…
**AVOID** using this company to book your holiday properties - they’re refusing to honour credit on pre-paid bookings, unable to be used due to pandemic/travel restrictions into the US. We’ve lost $700 that we paid for a hotel in LA. Don’t give these thieves your business. Hopefully we can get a refund from the credit card company🤞🏻

Sonder in Austin - South Congress
Run the other way. First of all, I show up at a place looking for the words "Sonder," but all I find is a place called the Lola Apartments. When I checked in with support, they told me that the location is not the Lola Apartments. They asked me to walk to an area behind a bar and look to the left. After dragging my luggage around the block, all I see is an empty lot and a wall. They claim that I went too far, so I turn back around, and I'm back where I started. I asked them again if I should enter the Lola Apartments. "No," they replied, "it's not the Lola Apartments,"
I asked a local about Sonder, and they were not aware of such a place. After an exhaustive search of 40 minutes, I'm back at the Lola Apartments because the Support team clearly has no idea where the location is either. Google maps doesn't do the place justice as it is located on a hill, and you can't get to it from the main drag. At this time, I'm ready to book an Uber to a nearby hotel, but I asked again, "Are you sure it's not the Lola Apartments?"
Someone with more sense must have taken over the chat because they replied, "Yes, that's the place you're looking for." So I walk into the complex, and the second part of my search begins. With fourteen unlabeled buildings on the site, I have to find Building nine. I continue to walk around to each building to see the suite number, and I find Building eight and Building ten but not Building nine. I am disoriented and tired from a 4-hour flight and out of sorts at the midnight hour but I carry on. How did I know there were fourteen buildings on the site? Because I found thirteen after twenty minutes and found my building by a process of elimination.
I am finally at the room trying to type a code into a keyless lock that will not respond and times out after five seconds. Upon entering the room, it finally dawned on me that I had booked an "Airbnb style" place and was staying at someone's apartment. The walls were dirty, and a rustic rug in the bedroom was painful to walk on.
As the sun streamed into my room the following day, I realized that the bedroom floor was dirty, and the "rustic rug" was there to cover the dirt. I knew at that moment that I couldn't complete my stay at this location for another night. I checked out early and booked a hotel for the second day. Save yourself the trouble and book a "real" hotel.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would
If I could give this place a one star review, I would. I booked a location in Montreal, and had trouble getting into the Sonder - so much for the ease of the automated system. It was impossible to reach the helpline, and I ended up walking around with a suitcase on the street for four hours until I got help. The apartment was filthy. I wish I would give it 0 stars.

Worst stay of my life
Worst stay of my life. I booked Sonder in a pinch when my boyfriend tested positive for Covid while I tested negative. In an effort to self-isolate I quickly booked one of their rooms not too far from my apartment. I pack my bags and show up and lo-and-behold, the unit is filthy. In fact, I believe someone was still occupying the room. I leave and quickly call Sonder to explain what happened. They book me at another room but in a building a few blocks away. I'm pissed, but w/e it's fine. About 45 min later I get a call that I cannot in fact stay in this room and they need to move me again. It's now 9PM and I want to order dinner but I cannot stay in this location. I spend an ungodly amount of money on rideshare to get to the third location which was NOWHERE near my initial booking (this is in NYC where even a few blocks makes a difference). The facility was fine but the room was so low that I had to keep the blinds down. there were no privacy shades and no overhead lighting so I was stuck in a dark, cold room. Not to mention, limited food options since I spent my evening evading covid and random Sonder rooms.
This place is such a joke I will do everything in my power to tell people to never book here. I recommend the classics now like Holiday Inn, Marriott, or maybe just a friends place. This place is not worth your time or money to even spend a minute in.
Excitedly awaiting the day this company goes public so I can short the living hell out of it.

Unethical
They would not offer a refund in New Orleans right after the hurricane. Seems a bit unethical to me. $1300 for nothing. Flights offered full refunds and not even a credit, but Sondors refused to even give a credit. Stole my money.

Sonder is the worst hotel we have ever…
Sonder is the worst hotel we have ever stay at. Everything is automated/electronic which we thought would be nice, but we were SO WRONG. Upon arrival, our balcony door was broken, they came and "fixed it" by reattaching the door knob, but the door still did not work, it was locked shut and unable to be unlocked. But the worst was yet to come....We were unable to evacuate during Hurricane Ida in New Orleans, we stepped out during the calm of the storm and were locked out of the hotel in the middle of the hurricane because the power went out and the main door's keypad does not have a battery back up like the room doors do. We found shelter at a nearby hotel. The next day (after the storm hurricane had passed and the immediate danger was over), I spoke with multiple people none of which communicated with the one before, they would not send anyone to open the door, nor would they call another guest or even a locksmith to open the door. All of our money, medication, IDs, debit/credit cards and belongings were locked in the building. Ultimately their solution for us was to find somewhere else to go (even though we told you we had no money/cards/IDs) but the overall attitude was a shoulder shrug and its not their problem. This all happened Sunday and Monday, it is now Thursday and NO ONE has even checked to see if we are ok or if we were able to find somewhere to stay, if we were able get our money, medication, IDs, belongings, etc. For the record, we are still stranded in New Orleans and at the earliest will not leave until Monday (assuming our flights aren't canceled for the 4th time). This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced and by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.
