False advertisement
I bought a very expensive security camera system for the sole purpose that it was Mac friendly. It was advertised on different pages of the same product speaking to the availability and compatibility with all Mac users and PC users. However to my dismay the system will not operate with a Mac, only handheld IOS devices instead. I have reached out to this company with a fix that allows the Mac to be used however they will not pay for it. So in the end I guess it's my fault for believing what is posted online on their website speaking to how friendly this system works with the Mac. I'm truly disappointed and will not recommend any of these products via the site to any of my friends or family.
Your still saying it again, the software is not compatible with a Mac, it's only compatible with iOS devices, which a laptop and desktop Apple product is not. You really need to learn the definitions of the words your choosing to use. Also contact Samsung and see if the statements your making are indeed correct and are what they are printing, cause they are not. When you assume you make mistakes and your continuing to make more adding much more validity to my review.
If you plan to run this system with a Mac forget it, you will waste your time, money and effort trying to make platforms compatible that just aren't. As for Soltech, I would recommend a computer software class at the local community college to better equip your representatives with answering questions.

Hello Tobin,
I’m sorry to hear that you felt the product was falsely advertised and apologize for any inconveniences you may have experienced in the interim. All of our systems, come with the Smartviewer program included in the packages; however, that program itself is not compatible with Macs. The program was meant for those who are attempting to view several systems under one computer.
The preferred software/platform is iPolis. It is an online based platform that can be accessed from browsers including Safari. We’re assuming this is what Samsung is referring to when they mention it is PC/Mac Compatible. This platform can be used on PC, Mac, iOS, and Android.
You’ll have to go to http://www.samsungipolis.com/ and register your device.
You will first have to register with a name and password. Once logged in, you’ll be directed to the “My DDNS” section where you can register your product. The Product ID tab will end up becoming your URL dedicated to the system from where you can log in and view your video footage online.
You will then have to fill in the Connection (IP information), Protocol, and DDNS setting on your DVR. The Host name should be www.samsungipolis.com and the User name should be the Product ID your designated before.
In order for remote access to work, you’ll have to open up the correct ports so that remote access can be achieved. Once you’ve accomplished all of this, you should be able to log into your camera network via the iPolis site by going to www.samsungipolis.com/[productID]. The “[productID]” will be the product ID you designated before.
As complicated as this process is, Samsung’s tech center should be able to do this for you remotely so that you don’t have to worry about putting in the correct numbers or anything of the sort. They can configure everything and hand it over to you once everything has been complete. If you'd like to do it on your own, the port information should all be located within the manual for you use. If you do decide to contact the tech center, they can be reached at 877-349-3149.
Best Regards,
Soltech Security
