I've been a long time supporter of sniffspot but it has gone massively downhill since they started to require memberships. I've just logged in to my long time account only to discover I now need a membership to book any spots. Reading others experience with credits, I will not be going through this system

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback and for being a longtime supporter of Sniffspot.
We understand that changes to the platform can be frustrating, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience. For guests whose accounts were created before the membership requirement was introduced, there is still an option to continue booking without a membership. If you’re not seeing that option on your account, our support team would be happy to help investigate and make sure everything is working as expected.
We appreciate you sharing your concerns regarding memberships and credits. Feedback from longtime users is especially valuable because it helps us understand how platform changes are being experienced by our community.
Thank you again for your honesty and for being part of the Sniffspot community over the years. If you’d like assistance accessing your account options, please reach out to [email protected] and our team will be happy to help.

Don't sign up for a membership, do credits a la carte and use them immediately or else you will get cheated
tldr; Don't sign up for a membership, just buy credits and use them immediately.
I was a paying member for 8 months. Everything was great, until the Sniffspot app told me that I didn't have a membership, despite me having paid for the month already. I was not able to use any credits or book any spots. I contacted Sniffspot support and didn't hear back for several weeks, by which time all the credits I had paid for, 63 to be exact, were wiped out. Even better, the agent told me that she could see I had paid for the months and my issue was completely fixed and I could use my 63 credits at any time. I have not gotten any response to any of my followup emails and support messages after that first one.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating it must have been to lose access to credits you believed would still be available.
We also apologize for the delay in responding to your concerns. We know how important timely support is, especially when questions involve memberships and account credits.
Since your review was posted, our team has reviewed the account and reached out directly to help resolve the situation. We confirmed that the membership had been canceled and have offered options to make things right, including either restoring the credits if the membership is reactivated or providing a full refund for the expired credits.
We appreciate you bringing this experience to our attention. Feedback like this helps us continue improving both our membership experience and customer support processes, and we remain committed to working with you toward a resolution that feels fair.

Too Confusing — No Way to Filter Nearby
I looked into SniffSpot but found their subscription and billing practices very confusing and frustrating. Trying to figure out exact locations, memberships, and fees felt like a waste of time. There’s no way to filter for places close to you either. For me, it’s much simpler to stick with free public dog parks.
Response from sniffspot.comMay 14, 2026
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the experience felt frustrating and confusing. That’s never what we want for our users.
Sniffspot does allow guests to search and filter for spots near their location, but we understand that the discovery and booking experience may not have felt as intuitive as it should have. We’re continually working to make pricing, memberships, and search tools clearer and easier to navigate.
For additional information about our optional membership program and benefits, guests can also visit sniffspot.com/membership.
We appreciate you giving Sniffspot a try and sharing your perspective. Feedback like this helps us continue improving. If you’d ever like help finding spots in your area or navigating memberships, our team is always happy to assist at [email protected].

Attempted fraud charge
Created an account and put in my card information but never used the service. Cancelled it but then SNIFFSPOT tried charging me $192. Thankfully my bank detected it as fraud or else I would have been upset. Do better
Response from sniffspot.comMay 14, 2026
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your frustration and understand how concerning an unexpected charge attempt can feel.
Sniffspot memberships can be canceled at any time through the account settings page. We would appreciate the opportunity to review what happened here, as we’re unable to verify account-specific details through Trustpilot.
Please reach out to our team at [email protected] so we can take a closer look at your account, confirm the billing history, and help clarify any confusion.
We appreciate the feedback and take concerns about billing very seriously.

They continued to charge me for 4…
They continued to charge me for 4 months after my cancellation. Customer service even said I cancelled but there was a glitch in their system. Refused to give a full refund.
Response from sniffspot.comMay 14, 2026
We're concerned to hear that you were charged after canceling your membership, especially if our team confirmed that a technical issue prevented the cancellation from taking effect. Membership charges should not continue after a successful cancellation.
We've requested additional information through Trustpilot so we can locate your account and review the charges and refund decision but haven't received a response. We'd still welcome the opportunity to investigate further. Please contact [email protected] with your account details and mention this review so our Care Team can take another look.

Wonky subscription service
SniffSpot made multiple charges in one day against an old canceled credit card despite being provided with a new credit card number. They then claimed via email they did not charge that card, despite all evidence to the contrary.
I have no idea how this was accomplished. There is no number to call anyone to deal with a significant issue.
Email is glacially slow. The dog yard I visited is nice, but after this mess I would never use this service.
Response from sniffspot.comMay 14, 2026
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating and concerning unexpected billing issues can be.
Sniffspot does not intentionally charge canceled payment methods, and we’d want to carefully review any situation involving duplicate charges or payment method confusion. In some cases, banks may continue processing recurring subscription charges through account updater services even after a card has been replaced, but we understand how this experience would still feel alarming from your perspective.
We also recognize your frustration with the speed of email support. Our team works to respond as quickly as possible, especially for billing-related concerns, and we know timely communication is important when resolving sensitive issues like this.
We appreciate your feedback and are glad to hear you and your dog enjoyed the spot itself, even though the overall experience fell short. If there are any unresolved concerns, please reach out to [email protected] so our team can review the account details further.

READ CAREFULLY: BILLING FRAUD (WITH UPDATE FOLLOWING SNIFFSPOT RESPONSE
I signed up for a free trial of the Bronze Sniff Pass near the end of the month, and they charged me $20 at the end of the 1-week trial (as agreed upon), a few days before the end of the month… and then ALSO charged me $20 on the first of the next month. (They had never disclosed at the start of the free trial that auto-payments are processed on the first of the month, nor was that information anywhere on the website or in my account information, so I had assumed my auto-pay would occur- and re-occur regularly- on the day my trial ended. Essentially, I retroactively paid for a whole month of services when I only got 1 week.) I chalked it up to a personal oversight, and continued to use the service without issue for several months… until I went to cancel. I cancelled 2 days before the end of the month, yet they kept automatically charging me on the first of the month, past my cancellation date. One charge 2 days after cancellation, and 1 pending charge by the time I went through my credit card statement for that month. Glad I had taken screen shots for proof at the time of cancellation, because they had never sent me a email confirming the cancellation, and when I checked my account on their website today… my Sniff Pass was magically active again! PLUS, you cannot remove your credit card from their website!! Total fraudsters. Disputed with credit card company, and fortunately, was able to get the first charges refunded, but sadly, I have to follow up in a week on the “pending” charges, and I had to totally cancel my card (because my credit card company cannot guarantee SniffSpot hasn’t saved my info elsewhere), and I am still going through headache of transferring auto-pays to other merchants, onto my new card.
UPDATE, following SniffSpot’s response: What would you call it when you cancel your subscription before next month’s renewal, you have the screen shots to prove it and confirm you no longer have a subscription, but your subscription *somehow reactivates by itself*? Does that seem like an error made by a third party billing company? Not to me.
Response from sniffspot.comMay 14, 2026
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating and stressful billing concerns like this can be.
Sniffspot does not engage in fraudulent billing practices, and we take concerns regarding subscriptions, cancellations, and payment security very seriously. Memberships renew on a monthly billing cycle, and we recognize that the timing surrounding free trial conversions and renewal dates may not always feel intuitive. We appreciate this feedback regarding how billing timing and renewal information are communicated.
Subscription cancellations are intended to take effect immediately, and guests should retain access through the remainder of their billing period without additional renewals. We understand your concern regarding the charges you described and the experience you had while trying to resolve them.
For security and compliance reasons, payment information is managed through secure third-party payment processors, and full card details are not stored directly by Sniffspot. In some cases, banks may continue processing recurring subscription charges through account updater services even after a card has been replaced, though we understand how concerning that experience can feel from a customer perspective.
We’re glad to hear some charges were ultimately refunded, though we recognize the overall experience caused significant frustration and inconvenience. Feedback like this helps us continue improving both our billing communication and customer support experience. If there are any unresolved concerns, please reach out to [email protected] so our team can review the account details further.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how upsetting unexpected billing concerns can be, especially during the holiday season.
Sniffspot memberships begin at $20 per month and include enough pre-paid credits typically to cover one or two bookings, depending on the spot selected. Membership charges are associated with an active subscription, and we’d want to carefully review any situation involving unexpected renewals or billing confusion.
For security and compliance reasons, payment information is managed through secure third-party payment processors, and full card details are not stored directly by Sniffspot. We understand your frustration regarding payment method management and appreciate the feedback about the account experience.
We take billing concerns seriously and would welcome the opportunity to review the account details further. Please reach out to [email protected] so our team can investigate and assist directly.
