I had a horrible experience with the admissions department after speaking with a woman named Janelle. I was going to transfer in to SNHU however once I was spoken to in that way from another person I have zero interest in attending a school like this. This woman was absolutely abrasive and rude. after I asked her about transferring credits she kept forgetting I was a transfer student. It was beyond bizarre. The conversation went around in circles. I am happy She was so rude. It made me look up reviews about the school. After reading what others have to say I am certain my gut instinct is correct. Run!

SNH-POO!
Avoid! Poor customer service, crappy accessibility! All they want is money, and do not care to accommodate any needs that will help you succeed.
Those fancy commercials are just air brushing to cover up wolves!

Forced to agree that whites are racist
I write this review today in all seriousness. SNHU is a SCAM. I refuse to pay them a single cent. Every assignment I was given was about race and how whites are bad. The VERY last assignment I was given I was to explain how fresh drinking water was racist. This school is nothing but DEI and forced beliefs. I refused to continue my education with them and even called to explain why. They were reluctant to hear me out and the next day they blocked me out of everything. Please, please, please go in a different direction. SNHU is not worth it. They should be sued. I myself am looking into lawsuit options.

Terrible!
The financial aid department started accepting my award amounts without allowing me to see them first. I had to repeatedly fill out loan reduction forms because they don't allow you to modify them before they accept them on your behalf. They chose your classes for you, which is okay, but my advisor enrolled me in 2 of my electives without consulting me (utterly unrelated to the career path I established with her). I thought they were required because it was inconceivable that they would choose electives for me. A professor gave me the rudest, most dishonest, and inaccurate feedback I'd ever seen. It was so blatant that I had to look her up, thinking she was an imposter. There were 20ish terrible reviews, most concerning almost the same issue I encountered. The dispute resolution contact was rude, oblivious to the case, and sent me a template denial a few days later. Academic integrity is not a thing here. Over half the DB posts appeared to be pasted from AI chatbots.

Snhu enrolled me without consent
They automatically enrolled me in two classes for a semester when I clearly signed a form to withdraw from SNHU! I withdrew in October 2024 and it’s currently March 2025 so what is going on? One of the advisors said “you have to complete two forms to withdraw, the form to withdraw from your current classes and our school” like okay I signed the one y'all had sent me and told ya’ll I wanted to withdraw from the entire university? I’m just now hearing about two forms?!? Yet y’all can automatically enroll me in classes I’m unaware about with no consent and have financial charges to my account? Also they reached out to me on a Friday at 2 pm while their office hours close somewhere after 3 pm. I guess I’ll hear back Monday or something hopefully from someone who actually knows how to do their job because they aren’t getting a dime from me from classes I didn’t even sign up for! Start my new job Monday that I was super excited about and now I also have to deal with someone else’s mistake! :/

My SNHU experience has been nothing but…
My SNHU experience has been nothing but frustrating and disappointing. I was told by my academic advisor for the last year (since April 2024) that this current term is my last term and that I have no additional classes to take. I have this in writing (via emails and program evaluations) numerous times over the last year, and two weeks before the end of this term, my advisor calls me and says "our system messed up. You actually aren't graduating this term and need more classes." Can you imagine mentally and financially planning to graduate for a whole year, and two weeks before said graduation, you get told oops, our system messed up, so sorry. I am beyond upset by SNHU's incompetence. I am most likely not going to finish my degree now because I do not have the funds, time, or energy to take even more classes. Prior to this fiasco, every term it was something new, some new issue that took WEEKS to MONTHS to figure out, and only because I would constantly email my advisor. Their advisors are not trained properly, nor do they exhibit any type of emotional intelligence. Save yourself the disappointment and frustration and go somewhere else.

Why I Would Not Recommend SHNU
Why I Would Not Recommend SHNU University
As a student, I expect my university to provide meaningful, personalized feedback and support in my learning journey. However, my experience at SHNU University has been disappointing, primarily due to their lack of concern regarding professors using ChatGPT or other LLMs (large language models) to provide feedback and answer student questions.
1. Lack of Genuine Academic Engagement
Instead of receiving thoughtful, expert feedback tailored to my work, I often received AI-generated responses that lacked depth, nuance, and personalization. A professor's role is to guide and mentor students, but relying on AI undermines the human element of education—something crucial for academic growth.
2. No Accountability or Oversight
The university does not seem to have any regulations or oversight in place to ensure professors provide authentic responses. When students raise concerns, there is little to no action taken to address the issue. If AI-generated feedback is indistinguishable from a professor's input, what am I paying tuition for?
3. Missed Learning Opportunities
Engaging with professors should involve meaningful discussions, clarification of concepts, and critical thinking exercises. Instead, responses generated by LLMs often feel generic and superficial, missing opportunities to challenge students or provide deeper insights. Professors using AI as a shortcut rather than a supplement devalues the learning experience.
4. Ethical and Academic Integrity Issues
If students are expected to maintain academic integrity, the same should be required of faculty. Universities should set the standard for ethical education, and outsourcing feedback to AI without disclosure or meaningful review is a disservice to students who seek mentorship and real academic dialogue.
Conclusion
While AI can be a useful tool for education, it should never replace direct engagement between students and professors. Unfortunately, SHNU University does not seem to care about this issue, and as a result, students may receive low-effort, AI-generated responses instead of valuable academic guidance. If you are looking for a university that prioritizes real academic support, I would not recommend SHNU University.
