Hi, Thanks for your feedback. We’re sorry this wasn’t what you expected. The 2 Quart Insulated Canteen Covers you ordered are listed in Good condition, and the product description notes that the carry strap is missing on these covers. We try to call that out clearly so customers know exactly what they’re purchasing before ordering. If there’s anything else about your order that wasn’t as described, please reach out to us directly at [email protected]. We’re always happy to help and want to make sure you receive exactly what you expected.

Hi Isaiah, We’re sorry to hear there was something inside the hydration pouch. Please email photos along with your order number to [email protected] so we can inspect the issue and help resolve it. Trustpilot is a review platform rather than a customer service channel, so we’re unable to receive photos or properly investigate an order here. We always encourage customers to contact us directly before leaving a review so we have an opportunity to address any concerns. Once we receive your email, we’ll be happy to take a closer look. Steven, We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed with your order. We do want to clarify one important point: these duffle bags were not listed or sold as new. They are listed as previously issued military surplus in good condition. The product description notes that they may show signs of use, including permanent marker, scuffs, stains, tape residue, repairs, and even painted markings. After receiving your email, we responded the same day and asked for photos of the duffle bag you described as “falling apart” so we could review the issue and determine the appropriate resolution. When we did not hear back, we followed up again a few days later, but unfortunately never received a response. While cosmetic wear is expected with previously issued military surplus, every bag we ship should still be functional and serviceable. If that was not the case here, we wanted the opportunity to review it and make it right. Our offer still stands. Please send us a few photos of the bag, and we’ll gladly review the issue. — Smiths Surplus Customer Service

We're sorry this experience didn’t meet your expectations, but we need to address several inaccuracies in your review. The item you returned was inspected thoroughly before shipping. It had no tape residue, no loose threads, and still had the original plastic hangtag holder attached—a clear sign it had barely been used. There was one small surface spot of surface dirt, which could have been wiped off. As for the "foul odor," it was a scent similar to fabric softener —subjective, but certainly not "horrendous." You never contacted us directly about any concerns before posting a 1 star reviews. That’s your prerogative—but it’s worth noting that your public review history shows a consistent pattern of dissatisfaction with nearly every business you engage with. Regarding your refund: there was an internal error on our end, and we owned it as soon as we realized. That refund has since been processed. We do our best to treat every customer fairly, but sometimes it's clear that no resolution—no matter how reasonable—will ever satisfy. We wish you the best and sincerely hope you find a shopping experience that aligns with your expectations.

We’re sorry your experience wasn’t what you expected. After reviewing your order, it’s true that we shipped your item out later than usual due to a defect we found in our quality check. We held the order to send a better-condition item and regret not notifying you of that delay sooner. Regarding the changing delivery dates: those emails weren’t sent by us. When we ship through eBay’s system, they automatically update buyers using USPS tracking data—and unfortunately, they do so without seller involvement. This creates confusion, and in this case, it made it seem like we were changing your delivery timeline when we weren’t. We totally understand how frustrating that is, especially when you needed the item urgently. While we got this one wrong, we take pride in our customer service and accuracy. Most orders go out without a hitch, but we’re human, and we’re committed to doing better.

Attila, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the 2-quart canteen covers did not meet your expectations regarding the straps. We strive to present our products accurately, and as part of this effort, we include detailed descriptions of the item's condition. In the listing for the "good condition" covers, we do note that the carry strap is missing. This information is key to ensuring that our customers receive exactly what they're looking for. We understand how frustrating it can be when an item isn’t exactly as anticipated, and we appreciate the importance of the straps for your project. We encourage our customers to thoroughly read the product descriptions to find the option that best meets their needs. Please get in touch with us if you'd like assistance in finding a canteen cover that includes straps or if there's anything else we can do for you. Customer Service Team, Smith's Surplus
