Hi Brooke—thanks for the wonderful 5-star Retract-A-Gate review. Retract-A-Gate is designed to be very easy for adults to operate but would be difficult for small children to open the baby gate. A small child wouldn’t figure out the lock on the Retract-A-Gate baby gate unless they were shown how, since you must push down and turn at the same time (kind of like child-proof caps). Please let us know if you have any questions at [email protected]. Thanks, Deanna at Smart Retract.

Hi Shelley—thank you the excellent 5-star review. Retract-A-Gate is the widest safety gate available covering openings up to 72-inches. Another advantage you mentioned is its ability to “disappear,” as it is only 3.5-inches in diameter when retracted.
