Hi—thank you for your wonderful 5-star Retract-A-Gate review! Yes, training a pet is very important when introducing new items into the pet’s environment. There is an acclimation and familiarity that pets need to have as these new items are introduced to them, which applies for new, young pets, as well as older pets. Please let us know if you have any questions at [email protected]. Thanks, Deanna at Smart Retract.
