Automated parking and website was not working and would not take the £5 payment at the time. We provided full photo evidence of that to Smart Parking and POPLA (appeals). Later that day we successfully paid over £7.00 - providing full credit card evidence of payment. Despite full proof of their sytems not workingf and us paying £7.00 (for a £5.00 charge) our appeal was refused with no explanation. We should go to court but the time and stress of appealing is already too much, so we are having to stomach being £107 worse off due to severe malpractices and a complete lack of any integrity or accountability. Try to avoid anywhere that uses Smart Parking and never trust their systems or them in any way.

2 hours free parking is offered at Westway Square Botley, Oxford. We needed to stay longer so before the free 2 hours was up, we paid for extra time. We paid for a little more time than we needed and ultimately left the carpark in advance of using the extra time we had paid for. Smart parking sent a £60 fine. We sent evidence of this payment. In response Smart parking state we still have pay. We have worked out (it wasn’t specified in their reply), that they think we should have also paid for the “free” 2 hours. There was absolutely no clear signage in the carpark to explain this apparent rule/requirement - if there had been we would have paid - we didn’t want to be fined as demonstrated by our payment for extra time. Smart parking do not want to hear this however- they do not allow us to reply to their “decision” and state we must now go to appeal via an independent appeals service, incurring a great deal of time and admin for us, or pay - threatening that the fine will be increased if we appeal.

Have stress with this company. Yesterday received parking charge notice for nothing. I have paid for my parking, and been only 5 minutes late. Wrote email with attached payment but no answer in the moment. Will never use this carpark again.

Absolutely disgraceful company - them and their rogues at Debt Recovery Plus! Issued parking fine for car park at B&M Morley, Leeds where I park and pay regularly. On the occasion in question, the meter machines had been vandalised and were out of order so I could not make payment which I did report to B&M staff to no avail. A few weeks later I received a demand to pay £30 fine which was disputed with photographic evidence that the Smart Parking machines were out of order. Next thing DRP, despicable company start sending demand letters with inflated fine to £170! Have made formal complaint to MLMS, Resolver, BPA and my local MP as this particular car park has many bad comments in the local area. B&M really should be ashamed of themselves being associated with such companies! I have not and will not park there again whilst Smart Parking services are at that car park! I am quite prepared to go to court to name and shame these companies for lies and bully boy tactics!

Thank you SmartParking for taking half of my son's monthly salary. He works in a retail park on a Saturday for 4 hours and his company had overlooked adding in his reg no to exempt him from parking. He subsequently received a ticket. He appealed the ticket explaining that he was an employee and his manager had forgotten to add him to the list and provided details proving he was an employee. His appeal was rejected and he was told if he appealed again and lost he would have to pay the non-discounted fine, which would amount to ALL of his monthly wage! He paid the fine because he was afraid they were going to just brush his appeal aside.This is a company without any integrity.

Bunch of cowboys. Robbing the poor to line there own pockets. Bought a ticket for 3 hours entered my reg but it only printed the 3 letters thought nothing of it. Then got a penalty charge for £100 along with pictures only stayed for 40 minutes They said I had entered my reg wrong. Appealed this got declined so appealed to Popla and appeal unsuccessful so will have to pay. DO NOT USE ANY OF THERE CARPARKS THEY ARE A BUMCH OF THIEFS.

Parked up to pay. Had to download app. Took a while due to signal in car park. App didn’t work - couldn’t find car park. Tried the phone number. Wouldn’t allow me to pay as my number was linked to another parking company account and payment details were out of date. Didn’t have coins to pay so left after 20 mins attempting to pay and found another car park. £60 fine.
