Awful company and customer service. I will never use a smart parking place again. After paying for 6 hours of parking I was fined £100 as I was 6 hours and 2 minutes. I didn’t take into consideration that i was being charged while I was searching for a parking space and unloading my 2 young children. Totally ruined a day out. On top of this the postage strike meant I only had 4 days to pay so had no time to appeal again after my first appeal. Disgraceful.

Received a letter from Debt Recovery plus today for a parking fine from Smart Parking ltd for 22/06/22. This was the first I had heard about this parking fine as I hadn't received a letter from Smart Parking ltd to notify me of this therefore it is now to late to appeal. I spoke to a very rude aggressive bullying man at Debt Recovery plus called Mark Eton who basically told me I was lying about not receiving the letter and should pay the fine and speak to Royal Mail. Surely there should be some kind of confirmation/ recorded delivery if they are going to issue these fines in this way. Also the parking charge was issued in error and have confirmation from the Athletics Centre that all fines for this vehicle had been written off. I have made a complaint to the British Parking Asscociation

Please beware using their service. Take a picture on your phone of the machine as you pay on it and of your car at the parking with the ticket you are given. I paid £4 for parking but they send me a PCN. The machine had issued a ticket with a completely random number plate and despite evidence on my bank statement, they rejected my appeal. I regret I paid the £50 fine - I should have let them take me to court instead.

Took partner to the Thatcham health practice. Arrived at the Thatcham war memorial car park by the health centre at 0809.02 according the photo. Then spent 4-5 minutes trying to use their parking machine to pay for the ticket whilst my partner went in. Being unable to purchase a ticket, I briefly popped into the surgery to say that I would need to move the car as I couldn’t buy a ticket as the machine was not working. The photo shows me leaving the car park at 08.20.59 a total of 11 minutes and 57 seconds. Or 1 minute and 57 seconds more than the grace period which is 10 minutes. Of course I have their pictures for that and why would they lie…. If their machine worked I would have bought a ticket as I have on the other 6 visits that have needed to be made. Yes you can appeal and pay a full £40 more if they decline your appeal which they can do without explanation. I would say this company is shambolic, nothing wrong with making a profit, unless you are a thief. Make what you will of that.

I won't use any service that uses this company. If your business uses this company or is on a property associated with this company, I will be telling everyone who will listen NOT to use you

Well..... where do I start This company come into force where I use the gym. Put car reg in but recieved a letter a month later. Asking to pay fill amount. No phone number so I appealed. You are screwing over honest people that make a living. I expect its a bunch of barbies behind the phone as dumb as a blond girl sniffing a swimming pool. If you make me pay after I gave u evidence then I will go to court and qe will carry on the fight. I work hard for my money. I'm not dishonest and you need to get ur priorities right. Disgrace company. At least parking eye are approachable. Scum

I visited Aquaparcs at Milton Keynes and paid twice the parking fee as first payment was wrong timing. I tried to contact them for refund but they said that they are not responsible for it. How come you run a parking lot but not responsible for payment stuff???? Terrible service!!!

I used a car park in Heybridge Basin, Essex, which I have used for many years...and certainly free for Blue Badge holders. I did not know that Smart Parking owned the car park or charged for parking, so I did not even look to pay...silly me! I received a parking fine a number of weeks later :( I do not expect that disabled people should not pay their way, however, having used the car park for many years for free, as a disabled driver, and not having parked there since way before the pandemic, I was not expecting to be charged. I did, however, appeal and, guess what...they upheld their fine, saying that notices/signage were very clear!!! This company are clearly only monitoring themselves and are clearly money-grabbing too, with little or NO understanding for genuine mistakes, I am not impressed with Maldon District Council or whoever sold the land to Smart Parking because it is clear NOT Smart Parking or friendly parking at all!!!!!
