This company should be taken to court and charged with theft. I paid 80 pence for 2 hours parking and was over that time by 11 mins. I appealed the fine showing appointment times at an eye clinic plus receipts from several shops where i had spent just over £60. The fine was upheld after my appeal. £60 for 11 mins. If the fine was proportionate to the parking used i would of said, a few pound (£10) for eleven minutes, i'll pay that. But what an absolute piss take.

If I could give no stars I would. Charged for being in the car park for 11 minutes when there were not signs that could be see from inside a car stating that if you were there over 10 mins you’d be charged. I didn’t park in that car park as there were no allocated spaces left and no one made me aware that if I stayed over 10 mins I’d be charged!! I wouldn’t have taken the phone call from work there if they had!! They never sent me a first letter just a second stating I hadn’t paid and I now owe £170. Tried to appeal the day I received that letter to be told the time has passed! Of course it has! They never sent me a first letter. They say they can prove it was sent, but no proof has been shown to me. How can I be sure this is not just something the do to extort more money from people?! Awful company. It’s all just about conning people out of their money. Right before Christmas too. Shameful!

Paid for parking via Your Parking Space app and parked within timings. However, have received a penalty notice??!! I have emailed the Appeal process with proof and will await an update, but having read previous reviews I expect to have to take this further? Will provide an update here when received.

I drove into Fiveways car park Birmingham and was dismayed to realise there are no payment machines. There are signs that said I could use an app or phone line to pay. So, as I am autistic and technology is not my strong subject, I called their automated line. They asked me to say my registration number several times but they did not either hear me or there was a fault at their end. Getting seriously stressed, I asked the manager of the car rental place to help me, he came and rang the number and received the same result, not able to enter the cars registration number. At this point, fearing I would be in trouble, I removed my car. Sure enough, I received a fine notice for £100!!!! I appealed explaining their phone line didn't work and I was incapable of using the app but I have just found out that inspite of supplying my call log, my blue badge and relevant information, my appeal has been rejected!! My warning to everyone out there.....DONT USE SMART PARK PARKING!! They should not be in the business of offering parking spaces, they should be in the business of daylight robbery!

On returning to my car the ticket machine asked me to pay 50p which I did and it issued me a ticket. 11 days later I received penalty notice for £60 stating that I had not paid the correct amount for the time I spent in the car park. I tried to phone the company to inform that I had paid what the machine told me I owed. All numbers that I rang either did not work or instructed me to use their website. I emailed the company and was told I had to use their website to go through their appeals process. I have now spent a several hours trying to use the appeal process and on every occasion their program either crashed or informed me that I should try again later or this message appeared: 'Sorry, a processing error has occurred, supporting documentation cannot be added to this Appeal at this time'. Every time this happened I had to re-type the information in and every time the same issues arose. I think there is much the company could do to actually deserve the accreditations it says it has. I won't ever be using a car park managed by this company. I wonder if they will reply to this complaint? I suspect not.

Absolute con merchants. I was a regular at JD Gym user in Bury who for the past 2 years has used the Angouleme retail car park. On entry into the gym, you enter your car registration details into a tablet which gives you free parking for 3 hours. I have never had an issue until recently when i received a penalty notice 20 days after the supposed parking infringement saying i had not paid the fee or entered my details into the tablet inside the gym. I know that i would have entered my car reg details in because it’s the first thing i did after going through the security barriers. Done it hundreds of times previously. I appealed but lost the appeal and reluctantly paid the fine because i just didn’t have the time or patience to deal with these condescending idiots. £100 fine reduced to £60. I have now cancelled my membership of JD Gym Bury anymore because i can’t risk receiving another fine by this predatory company.

Stayed overnight at the Ibis Hotel Manchester airport. Parked in the Hotel carpark and got the room card from reception and duly brought our luggage to the room. We took the stairs because we couldn't fathom out the lift. Went straight back to the car and returned it to the "Car hire village". Back in Europe a week later received a mail from the car hire company. 40 pounds administration costs from the car hire and a pdf from "smartparking" with a fine for 60 pounds. The carpark had no barriers or anything but a sign with "only Ibis and Holiday Inn customers". I didn't know the the car was photographed by entering and leaving and the hotel staff didn't say anything. Never saw a payment machine during my stay. According to Smartparking I was there for 17 minutes. I've never experienced anything like this before. Deception in my eyes. Shame Ibis works with this kind of system unless they're taking a cut...
