SmartDrawReviews of smartdraw.com

Worked for 2 hours on a design. Needed to create an account to export it. Great. I'll sign up. I sign up, and the document I spent 2 hours designing didn't save to the new account. Awful UX

I spent around 5 hours doing a pfd, then, without an advice the app tells me that i need to pay an ANNUAL suscription to even see my pfd. Absolute garbage.

It's advertised as a free tool for making landscape designs. I starting putting a design together, and right as I duplicated a shape, it told me I had to purchase it to continue editing because I had exceeded the number of shapes allowed for a free design. There was no warning. I couldn't even undo or remove the shape. And you know, maybe I would have purchased the tool, since I had some other designs to create, but I don't negotiate with terrorists who hold my designs hostage without warning, so see ya, SmartDraw.

I was genuinely interested in purchasing SmartDraw for specific ongoing organisational design requirements with which often requires that I generate large org charts with approximately 270-position hierarchies imported from Excel, with linked sub-charts that can be maintained as the source data changes. I asked for a short demonstration or proof of concept because the trial does not allow me to properly test my use case at the required scale. I was repeatedly directed back to the trial and advised that SmartDraw does not provide one-on-one demonstrations. I then offered to arrange a group of other potential customers for a demonstration and asked SmartDraw to specify how many attendees they would require. Unfortunately, this proposal was not addressed. I find this a very disappointing pre-sales experience. I am not asking for training or free consulting — simply reasonable assurance that the product can perform the function for which I would be purchasing it. SmartDraw may well be an excellent product, and I remain interested. I hope someone in sales or marketing sees this review and is willing to engage with me.

new Feature to import an existing image/drawing and then to auto scale an object on the drawing to the rest of the drawing is fantastic!!! Saves a huge amount of Site drawing time.

Trash and Horrible Disasterous, I should just use Paint dot net to make my family trees. Forces you to pay for worst design ever, after you spent hours making a family tree and there wasn't any "pay now to use this". Just use paint dot net, it'll save you a lot of hassle rather than using this stupid app/browser/whatever thing you call these.

How can they block me from accessing my own work that I spent two days working on? They have essentially taken my work—my study—hostage and are now demanding that I switch to an annual paid plan just to regain access to it. How is this acceptable? Is this even legal? To clarify, my issue is not that I can no longer use SmartDraw after the free trial ended. I understand that. I am not even asking to download or export the file. The problem is that my work is stored on SmartDraw's servers, and I have now completely lost control over it. I cannot access it, manage it, or even delete it myself. The file is not on my computer; it is on their servers, yet I cannot even access it to delete my own work. I simply do not understand how locking a user out of their own work entirely is an acceptable practice.

Annual subscriptions only, they essentially hold your existing drawings hostage once you hit the object limit, and customer service feels more like a used-car sales tactic than actual support. And their SmartDraw AI customer service agent? I’m pretty sure it belongs to some kind of cult.
