Please don't ever ever waste your time to use the service of this company. Too much delay to pick your car. What customer service promises is not what you get. Once you pay the initial charges, your value is gone. They begin to lie to you about pickup time. The company inflates the charges by 100%. They will tell you that the cost is $1000, but you end up paying $2000. I will never ever use them.

We got scammed of our $150 deposit we paid to get our car shipped to California. When we posted a review on another platform because they did not pick the car up as promised, the manager "Jack Miller" called saying he would give us a full refund if we took down the review. We said give us the refund and then we'll take it down, he kept negotiating with us, i said no firmly, he rudely said ok and that he would send an email with the transaction number and refund receipt and hung up. It has been over an hour and still no refund. I don't believe any of these folks are even based out of the USA. One of the agents we were talking to said his name was Richard Nickson and his email id said Nickson in it but email signature said Richard Nixon (like the president) they just use generic American names like Jack, Richard, David etc. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS! I should have paid more attention to the little things but I have learnt now. I hope others can learn from my experience. They willsweet talk you into making a deposit and actually tell you the negative reviews are from competing companies, don't fall for that. I fell for it and paid a deposit. Made a big mistake.

UPDATE: The manager "David" called saying he would give a full refund if i took down the review, i said i would take it down after I get the refund, and he said okay and said he was going to send a screenshot and transaction receipt and then hung up, It's been 20 minutes and I still haven't received the email with a receipt of refund. I believe none of these people are even based in the US based off of the accents and names they're giving. They're just running a scam company. USERS BEWARE! Believe all the other 1 star reviews. I would give 0 if I could. They will BAIT SWITCH you with a low price. I spoke with multiple people through the course of this ordeal, Richard, Robert and David. First they promised the car would be picked up on a certain date, said they are not brokers and have their own drivers (THEY DON'T) they made us sign a contract and pay a deposit, then the bait switching began. The day for car pick up came, the window passed, I had to call over 20 times to get someone to answer my call, and they finally gave someones number for the driver, the driver said he cannot pick up today because he is booked already. When I called Smartship again, they said they cannot refund stating I signed a contract, they are providing alternate solution to send someone tomorrow. When I said I have a flight to catch today and cannot be here to give the car tomorrow they said I should hide the keys nearby for the driver to pick it up. They never intended on shipping my car. I should've believed the other reviews, but I guess I learn the hard way. I will be disputing on my credit card because I don't believe these scammers will refund my money themselves. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! You're better off driving your car cross country than trusting these scammers. EDIT: One of these guys just texted saying he will send $100 from his own pocket for the $150 deposit i paid since the billings department won't refund. I said no ty I need the full refund.
