Slidebean offers a financial model that has proven effective over years of use in everyday life. The host, Caya, demonstrates deep knowledge and presents information in a clear, relatable manner, showing great patience with students. Driver-based modeling is particularly beneficial for businesses focused on internet sales and growth. While the model's automation features may be less relevant for tech hardware companies with longer production lead times, it remains highly valuable as it equips tech founders with the necessary skills to act as their own CFOs.

The Slidebean financial-modeling course is the single most empowering piece of financial education I've gotten as a start-up founder. It's actionable and you can immediately start playing around with figures and scenarios for your company. Watching the Slidebean videos on financial models before is quite recommended. However, the times were not super clear by the end, making me miss the final live meetup. I was part of the first cohorts, so I guess the will be have plenty of time to make logistics cleaner. Thanks!

I took the course to get an understanding of the financial model format required for venture capital raising. In that regard the course was rewarding yet still needs significant improvement. Specifically, I felt; 1: the business modeling diagramming as covered in the first day needed to have clearer explanation as by lesson 2 and beyond it seems many were still struggling with their business models. In general, it might require 2 sessions or more extensive resources focusing on the direction of arrows and accounting background of why it's important to lay out the model in a certain way. The KPi's needed to be explained and documented better. 2: The explanation of the model spreadsheet was good and particularly useful when specific bits of advice were given on the level of income required for seed funding etc. I felt a bit more of an explanation of the VC process and its reliance on financial models could be in the video session. 3.Too much of the live discussion time got used by solving various peoples excel issues. Because of the different Excel ability of different participants this can be frustrating, this does not deny that different levels of Excel help are always going to be needed. 4. The Course leader has a great style and obviously a very switched-on self-starter and his persona is a big selling point for the course. He made the course interesting and lively. 5. Probably need a bigger gap between recorded session and live session as there may not be enough time to absorb the recorded session and enact what's learned before the live session. 6. I would like to see the course administration improved; I don't think I got my login instructions to access course content until the day of the course. I would like all that data within minutes of paying the fee. I am pleased with the course despite the long review and feel it can only get better

Overall, Slidebean's week-long Financial Modeling Crash Course provided a positive learning experience. The course is particularly beneficial for tackling the complexity of their Financial Model templates, which can initially be overwhelming. Caya, the instructor, demonstrated a high level of expertise, contributing significantly to the course's value. An unexpected highlight of the course was the identification of various bugs in the templates. This discovery was surprising, considering the templates have been sold for $79 each for several years. It underscored the practical nature of the course, allowing participants to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. Overall, the course effectively combines pre-recorded content with live sessions, offering a comprehensive learning experience for startup founders. The Slidebean Financial Modeling Crash Course structure is noteworthy but requires improved communication. The course entails a daily pre-recorded session lasting approximately 1 hour over five days. Following each pre-recorded session, participants engage in 'homework' to prepare for a subsequent 1-hour live session per day. This hybrid approach provides flexibility for learners. However, there's room for enhancement in communicating this structure to participants. Clearer communication, especially regarding the timing of live sessions, should be prioritized. Providing this information well in advance would enable participants to plan their schedules accordingly, ensuring a more seamless learning experience. It's worth noting that this review focuses solely on the Financial Modeling Crash Course, and Slidebean offers a diverse range of other products and services not covered here.

Slidebean helps with a financial model that clearly has been used for years en works in daily life. Host Caya is very knowledgeable, clear and down to earth and has patience with the students. Driver based modelling is especially usefull with internet based sales and growth. For a tech hardware company with longer lead times automation is less applicable but the model is still very usefull since you need to be your own CFO as (tech) founder. The live Q&A session were from 11 pm for Europe. For me that was very late and sometimes difficult to get the most out of it. I recommended to structure your week around it.

Caya and his team did an excellent job. Self-directed courses can be challenging, but with the discipline of doing the work, it made sense. Being able to go back and forth in the videos to make sure I understood the concept was excellent. The live sessions were also a great opportunity to have questions answered and learn from others' questions. However, I suggest that before we begin the course, the self-directed aspect and the timing of the Q&A sessions should be better outlined, so that we understand what to expect.
