THE WORST FACIAL OR SPA EXPERIENCE EVER! Overall, staff were so rude and sloppy. The lady who did my facial forced me to get the peel and I wanted to avoid doing anything harsh on my skin since I was already on topical cream for acne so I told her i didn't want to get the peel but I think she was getting a little offended. However, without her telling me which kind of facial i was getting, I was not getting any relaxed nor feeling pampered. Only thing she did for my 50min facial was extracting, and one calming cream. On top of that, front desk lady was kept on insisting for tip. I think tip should be something coming out of a true gratitude not by forcing. Lastly, if they were being sloppy because my service was through Groupon, that is even worse customer service. I went to the spa because I wanted to get relaxation and feeling treated, but i walked out with unpleasant feeling which ruined the whole night.

This is for Skin Spa at 57th Street. And yes, only one star as described, UNACCEPTABLE, UNREASONABLE, AND RUDE service, TOTALLY!!! Don't go there if you want to save money and keep a good mood for a day. Receptionist who communicated with me via phones made no sense at all.

it was my first time here because of a groupon but not my first time waxing - it was hot in there, I was not greeted by the technician, it was a rushed session which caused extreme pain and breakage of the hair (no clean feeling after waxing). in fact there was an area towards the back that still had untouched hair. will i come back here? definitely not unless they offer to redeem themselves with a different person and they get AC. oh. and I had to tip on the full price, which I usually do, but felt was an extreme tip for a terrible service.

Extremely disappointed and I will not be returning. I went for a Brazilian and I was scared because it was my first time. Julia did not make me feel comfortable. She was extremely fast and did not wax everything. I still had a lot of hair that needed to be waxed. There were also pieces of wax left over.

the masseuse never showed. I waited over 20 minutes to find out she wasn't going to show up and did not get my massage that day. waste of time.

Worst facial. She did nothing. Slapped some cream on, wiped within five min. Said she put peel on but was just wet papertowels. Ridiculous. NEVER GO BACK.

Recently I had two different appointments cancelled by Skin Spa for "last minute unavailability" of technicians. I was also told that there were no longer technicians in the entire company who perform the service I required. It is a service that I had done many times in the past and I had three more prepaid on my account. Twice in the past week I left messages for Skin Spa to call me to discuss the mater. To date I have not even had the courtesy of a reply or return phone call. Terrible service.

I was a bit late to my appointment (ten minutes to be exact) I called ahead and did tell them yet they said I can come anyways. When I arrived, I was told I could no longer receive my original procedure, so I was okay with that and opted for the skin peel which was suggested. I would have rather been told to come back instead of being seen under these circumstances...Not only was the service extremely rushed and stressful (isn't this a spa??) the ethetician was not very friendly. TEN minutes later, (I have never had a ten minute face peel, and even if my ten minutes of being late were deducted, 20minutes for a peel??) I was hurried off to the front desk. I asked the receptionist for change to tip the ethitician out of courtesy even though her service was less than satisfactory. The receptionist counted my change out loud and calculated how much tip "I should leave" before handing me my money. I have been to many spas, I never seen such unproffessional service in my life. She then proceeded to try and sell me a spa package, got all the details wrong and her co worker had to help her... To make matters worse, I am putting into question the ethiticians hygiene, I think she did not wash her hands!!! Because after my treatment I went home and woke up with a cold sore in an area of my face near my mouth, where she touched!!! I didn't even know what it was since I never had one before IN MY LIFE..Now I have a lovely reminder of this dreaded place. I am DISGUSTED. I will write a review on every site possible so this doesn't happen to anyone else. DO NOT COME HERE.
