systems broken and insist on phone call...even though getting a phone number is why you bought a SIM
Update: once I borrowed a us phone I got it sorted, helpful rep. Original: I bought a SIM card online, to use for a month while in the USA. The SIM card has to be activated on their website. The activation sequence didn't work, so I contacted customer service through online chat. They told me the only way they can help is by scheduling a phone call. But I don't have a phone number, that's why I bought this SIM from them! I asked for a refund instead, and they told me this also can "only be done via phone call, for security reasons". This is total nonsense, plenty of companies will issue refunds or do actual customer service via email or online chat. It's particularly bad that their systems don't work and then they expect you to have a working phone line in order to fix things.
