This one-star review is for Simple Cellular's poor order fulfillment process. I ordered a reconditioned phone and 30 days of service on Feb. 26 for a trip to Mexico for which we were leaving on March 5, so I paid for 2-day shipping. This was to be our phone exclusively for our Mexico trips, since our everyday phones won't work in Mexico. I checked the order online on March 3, and it said "Processing." I called customer service and was told that an order can't be cancelled once it's processing. We bought a SimpleCellular SIM card and 30 days of service at a local drug store and used them with a friend's unlocked phone so that we would have service while in Mexico. The order continued to be noted as "processing" until it finally shipped on March 23, and I received it today, March 25, almost a month after I placed the order. I had received no status updates. I will be sending the package back, non-activated, but I doubt that I will get credit for the service I ordered. I don't recommend ordering a phone from this company unless your need for it is not at all time-sensitive. I recommend finding a phone locally that is unlocked and buying the SIM and the service card locally, if you need a cell phone that works in Mexico and your "everyday" prepaid cellular service won't work there.

STAY AWAY‼️ from this company if you don’t want your unlocked phone locked to their network for 12 months‼️I used my own unlocked iPhone that I bought and paid for to establish service with them a little over a year ago. This week I decided I wanted to switch from them to another provider. Well low and behold, I discovered that they locked the phone I already owned, and was unlocked, to their network. Their BS explanation was, because I have a iPhone, and Apple automatically does that. BULL!!!! I called Apple, and they said they do not lock phones, except in cases of fraud, or theft. In order to have your phone unlocked, you have to have them submit a request to Apple to do so, which takes two business days. So right now, I am without phone service for the next four days. In addition to them illegally locking my phone, they had my address in Maryland attached to a zip code in Miami, FL, which almost prevented me from switching because I had no awareness of this zip code being attached to my number. When I tried to get an explanation why, their representatives were rude and dismissive. They did not even want to give me the zip code, so I could provide it to the new provider, to port my number. I had to demand speaking with a supervisor who finally gave me that information. They have no right to lock anyone’s phone who did not purchase the phone from them. They are taking ownership of property illegally, and I will be contacting Fox5 and/or a company higher up to file an official report. Stay away from them if you don’t want your unlocked phone locked!!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. They hangup the phone of me 3 times, and then they did not even help me on the chat/email support, scammers all around.

Horrible costumer service , 2 hours to talk to someone and they just keep transferring you from department to department like you are calling the IRS. Too many unknowledge people working in there. I transfer my line and will never go back !!

I ordered (2) Moto E6 phones (Refurbished) and (2) 30-day Sim cards that were advertised to provide "free" phone service from 16 Central/South American Countries and Mexico, once registered and used within the USA on the front end. The phones were fine; I registered and used both phones/sim cards in the US for a week before going to Costa Rica for a week. Guess what -- the phones/sim cards would not work in Costa Rica. They wouldn't even connect to a provider. Once I returned to the US, I returned the phones and sin cards to their headquarters in Miami. Now 4 weeks later and no response - appears to be a complete "rip-off."

Delivery was awful and no communication when it was shipped or arrived. Tried calling them multiple times to check when it will come but they kept saying the delivery service will send me an email, which they never did. So I ended up buying a different sim package as I had needed it for a certain date. Lo and behold, when I arrived to my destination the package was there, so I didn't get a chance to call the delivery service to request a send back directly through them. So instead I had to pay for shipping to send it back to request a refund. Which was another obstacle in itself and I'm still waiting on that to go through after multiple calls confirming the process and being told different things. I've used this company in the past when I've traveled to the states, but i won't use it again.

Now that SimpleMobile has been purchased by Verizon it shares the same poor customer service, hotspot stalls all the time, and they refuse to fix the problem. Tried to have my hotspot unlocked because Verizon will not work in my area and they wanted 250 dollars to unlock a 49-dollar hotspot, nothing short of organized crime. Needless to say, I'm leaving this criminal enterprise for good.
