Honestly. I continually have communication failures on the SS site. So frustrating! When I used the site a year ago, I did not experience this. I understand that others are having similar issues and 'they are working on it'. 'Keep trying'. I do not intend to renew when my 3 month membership ends this month.

Since joining perhaps 6 months ago I have documented 60+ scam encounters and that was before I realized exactly how to report, In addition, I set specific age/ethnicity/location parameters. There were far too many that were significantly outside of the details I provided. It was easy to see that the pattern of syntax and details in the scams was almost identical in each message. Disappointed in the service; not for me. Hope others don't/will not have the same experience. Harsh review? Perhaps, I am the exception.

It has been barely a week since I joined SS and I’ve received about a dozen messages from scammers and SS mucked around with my photos (all innocent and above board profile shots). I called customer service and spoke to a very nice young man who said SS is trying to work on better security to catch scammers. Right after that call I got 2 more scam messages. He explained the photo mess up as a system problem SS is trying to work on. I paid for premium membership but the experience has been bottom of the barrel. I would have rated the experience lower but this system won’t allow it.

Didn't get the fake profiles or fuzzy pictures that some people complained about. Bad site design. I'm a web designer. If I'd built this site then I'd fire myself! I asked for connections within 50 miles - I get them from Cornwall and Yorkshire (and I live in London). Time wasted trolling through people living far too far away. Am also suspecting that some messages don't actually get through. Subscription renewal taken without a reminder. Customer service hopeless, it's actually difficult to even find the contact form. In fairness I have met a few people on the site so it does actually work.

The site apparently does not screen members at all to see if they are who they claim they are. You falsely believe that the person is in your town and later find out from them that they live elsewhere, or that they are much younger than what was listed. Some of the people are clearly who they say they are, but at a certain point the matches you get sent are of persons who are in review, probably meaning they have left the site long ago and not been removed. It is a bit of a scam. You might find a love interest, but the chances are very slim of that happening in my experience. The site does a very poor job of matching you up with persons of your height and age preferences. On the plus side they let you block such persons right at the first introduction so you don't get bothered by them in the future.

I've been on this site for 3 months. Many fake profiles and bots, as usual. Some profiles are real, though. I can vouch for that. The exhaustive profile questionnaire is a joke: you're offered whoever anyway, and from wherever. You get 20 "new" matches a day, most of whom live well beyond 50 miles from you. The limited number of daily matches means that you don't get pestered to pay for increased-exposure upgrades, but then again, you can't keep coming up with 20 new profiles a day without inventing some of them. Final word: somebody or something will actively attempt to scam you from time to time. You'll know them right away because they look younger than fifty and they'll be chatty and interested. Silver Singles does a decent job finding them out (but you will first if you can see through the flattery). There is also a scam running in which a person who has found success wants to refer you to their tall, shy friend who expressed in interest in meeting you (email address tantalizingly dangled). This goes out to men and women and it's sloppy and obvious. Men don't want tall chicks. They want 'em on the short side and curvy as boiled spaghetti.

At first glance, this seems like a great site for over 50 singles. However, there is NO customer service at all. My account froze up several times and locked me out for three solid days. It took every one of those three days for customer service to actually reply….two other replies were just spam boilerplate. Silver Singles has a lot of technology problems, and it’s no better than POF or Match.com. Same faces, too.

Horrible site. It gives you matches of people you have nothing in common with. If you DO actually find one, you message them and silence. Nobody writes back. The profile pictures are horrible. Upside down, sideways, or blurred on purpose. I have been on 4 months and have met NO ONE . I paid $68 for crap..... I hope I can cancel.
