This is the worst dating app. I have tried contacting them many times to stop my subscription and nothing happens. Most people on the site are not genuine, and therefore be very careful.

If one has the use of a private plane or where otherwise one can jet set across the country or to far away capitals of the world, then this is the website for you. If you are looking for someone within 20 to 50 miles, this site is awful. They have no distance preferences and so trying to find somebody anywhere even remotely close by within a several hour drive is a waste of time.

The request expired without a response, and a normal conversation never had a chance to develop. In my opinion, this creates unnecessary pressure and reduces opportunities for natural interaction. Another concern is the recent redesign of the site. In my experience, the changes made the platform less user-friendly rather than more effective. The increased controls and restrictions seem to make communication more difficult, not easier. I also tested the service across several major metropolitan areas. For my age range (approximately 40–70), I found the active user base to be relatively small compared with other platforms. Joined just in time for them to cease operations a week later. Oh, and of course they took my membership money with them. Crooks.

Looks like the company has folded. I am not surprised. I hope there isn't a problem with closing the account.

I also joined Silver singles and am not pleased. At least I only signed up for 3 months. I have my preferences set for someone in the DFW area and the first day "Liked" a bunch of candidates. None of them responded back. After that, none of their recommendations were even in Texas! For weeks there were no guys that met my area preference so I sent an email to customer service complaining about their recommendations but got a response that really did not address the issue. Then I decided I wanted to cancel my subscription but they don't let you cancel without paying the full contract. The funny thing was after a few emails complaining I started receiving a few guys from my area and even a few recommendations in Texas. Would not recommend this site!!

I have tried several dating sites, so I'm familiar with how they should work. SilverSingles is by far the worst. I canceled my account after only 2 days. Why? I had almost NO control over anything. In order to set up an account, I had to wade through a series of personality test questions. Then I discovered that the results were very inaccurate (e.g. Said I was "extremely laid back" and frequently very late... NOT. I am VERY OC and especially punctual!). Then when I tried to post a full-body pic of me, my pic was cropped into a head shot. When I tried to narrow my matches by specifying requirements (distance, age, etc.), it kept overriding my settings. Every time I tried to edit/revise my profile or change my picture, it had to go through a "review" which delayed my updates for several hours. I kept getting duplicate emails notifying me of old messages that I'd already read and responded to.
