Be warned there is an upfront 6 month payment (£167 ish) taken in one go, if you want to see photos, send messages etc. Also, it is not exclusively for 50+ as was described when I joined. Women under 50 can join, meaning this dating site is actually no different to any other and women in their 50s are 'in competition' with women under 50 - a bit soul-destroying when I thought this website was different. Waste of time, money and energy.

I really wish I had seen these reviews before I joined up. Men sending likes and smiles. When you reply you get nothing back. I don’t know what server they are using but it is really poor. Takes ages to load the pages or sometimes won’t load at all. I’ve asked for matches within a 50 mile radius but getting them from all over the country which is pointless. They get good reviews on things like top 10 dating sites. I can’t imagine why.

Fake profiles. You will be lucky if 1% of the profiles in your area are real.

Horrible experience. They tell you to set "preferences" but when you don't, as in my case, get any or very few (most not real) matches, they say to expand your preferences! Customer Service responses are merely boiler plate canned E Mail messages. Don't waste your money on this site.

I set this up for my mum. They have a circular website that gets you no where. Not able to complain, not able to get a refund. Don’t bother with them, honestly, they are a scam.

The site encourages you to write a lengthy profile, however the match choices you make eg, age group, are not always given. Recieving random ages outside of your choices is a regular occurrence. I reported a scammer, and after a lengthy wait, customer service advised to avoid profiles with one line answers! In 4 months I have had very little contacts, and apparently they also said that not all members are paid members, so could not reply...so I wondered why they were on the site. No access to search or even an indication when members are or have been active.

Designed to get hold of your money. The free membership gives very little, in fact I’m not sure it gives anything of value. There’s no trial membership, so you have to pay up front without having a sense of what you’ll get. People send you messages, but you can see no picture of them nor see the message unless you pay for membership - it could be literally anyone contacting you.

I have been trying to contact silver singles for over a month. I signed up, paid and had 2 days access to my account. My account was placed on fraud alert. I was promised a refund, but it has not come through. So frustrating that they will not answer their phones or call you back.
