I was matched with members in other states when my preference states a 50 mile radius. I complained to customer service and started to receive local matches but non with profile pictures, I sent these profiles requests for photos but didn't get any responses. I was very frustrated and dissatisfied with my options on this site.

Give the requested men. I asked for Black men, 6'1-6'5 You sent majority White men down to 5'5. Continued to send same pics.

Update: I previously gave this site a pretty fair review, but on second thoughts I'm thinking it was just not worth joining. Still not receiving any messages. Very few new matches, no contact with other members, nothing. I joined when they had the $17.95/mo deal. They normally charge around $45, so I count myself lucky. Don't know if they took any of my previous suggestions under consideration, but they need to do something different to get new members and keep the current ones. 1st.Review: Other members are not answering messages. I was informed that if a recipient is not a Premier member they don't get to see messages. Suggestion: Maybe matches should only be Premier members. Too many matches are located too far away (all over the country). Also, matches are not always what a member is looking for. I don't believe members necessarily have to be compatible in interests and likes and dislikes. Sometimes, opposites attract. Suggestion: Maybe a data base of all members with filters for preferences that we could search for matches ourselves would be more helpful.

Just signed up - didn't pay. 'Likes' are blurry photos. O purleese... that's why I won't be joining you. 'Some features not available before payment' they say ..well I prefer sites where they are! See before you buy is the normal commercial system.

As always, a member writes the characteristics they are looking for (for instance height over 5’10”). Then, most of the members who contacted me were way under 5’10! It’s exhausting going through all of those interested members on a daily basis who don’t come close to the preferences I submitted.

There are a surprising amount of obvious scammer profiles compared to other online dating sites. In between those, you are sent a significant number of profile "matches" that are hundreds of miles away from your zip code.

When I tried to delete my profile I got a message to enter my password. I did and then got a message saying I had entered the wrong password, yet I was ON THE WEBSITE. If I had the wrong password, how did I log onto the website in the first place? The same thing happened when I tried to end my account. I got a message that I had to enter my password again, and then said it was the wrong password. This is a way to frustrate people and make them not cancel. It was infuriating and took way too long to finally get done what I wanted done.

I'll begin by saying that customer service is outstanding. I also liked the wide range of topics that are offered for members to add to their profiles. But there were two big issues that were deal breakers for me: 1. There is nothing in the questionnaire asking about political views (conservative, moderate, liberal, etc.) This is a very important consideration for me. If I find someone's profile interesting, I might waste a lot of time without knowing initially if they'll ultimately be an instant NO, should they have opposite political views. 2, Every time someone simply viewed my profile, I received a big "exciting" email from SilverSingles, saying "Frank (or whomever) is interested in you!!" Just because someone looks at my profile doesn't mean they're interested, and it's certainly not worthy of cluttering my inbox with these emails. As far as I know, there is no way to turn this off without turning off all SS emails. That would be a very helpful feature to add. Another dating site I'm on has an icon at the top of my home page that shows who has viewed my profile, which is quite sufficient. I will say that they were very nice, and prompt, about refunding my money. Also when I wrote customer service with a question the previous day, the woman who responded was very helpful and friendly. I think this could be a good dating site with a few tweaks.
