Absolute rubbish. It’s impossible to cancel and the matches are miles away. AVOID!!!

They scammed me at sign-up and charged me over $100 for one month when it was a $30 special. Dispute the charge on your credit card to get your money back. If you don't hold them accountable, they will continue to scam other people.

SS is owned by Elite and they share profiles when one runs out. The sites sends you profiles and many do not adhere to your preferences, I don’t like that I can’t choose amongst the registered profile’s. If you remove your pics on SS they still keep them on Elite! I’ve also heard they own Zooks also! The worst part for me it that they don’t screen their customers and I have been sucked in by several FAKE profiles which included emails and local telephone conversations as we make plans to meet. Oops, the night before meeting, you get an email or text saying he’s been awarded a large contract often to Africa, but he’ll be back shortly. The person backs off when they feel they can’t get any money out of you. When you complain to SS they send you a standard letter telling you how to be safe while dating online. Even if you are scammed with FAKE profiles, they refuse to reimburse you. You have been for-warned about this sight. This site has made me hate online dating.

I spent 45 minutes going thru setting up profile, only to find out that no pictures of matches will be provided until you pay. So, my suggestion is let us see matches, then if we're interested and find a potential, then and only then charge us. Otherwise we could be paying for nothing!!!

Lack of matches, lack of any response from the few matches presented. My feeling is that there are just too few out there and have requested pro-rated fee refunded. At this point, I feel it’s just a waste of time & money.

It's clear to see, looking at the reviews here, that an awful lot of customers are angry with this company. If my experience is anything to go by, I can see why. For starters, the distance filter doesn't work: I set a strict distance limit of 100 miles, yet more often than not the matches sent to me have been way over that limit - including ones from Germany, Rome and Hungary! When I complained, I was fobbed off with various excuses and gaslighted ('the matches you are receiving are in line with your preference settings'). Needless to say, nothing was done to fix it. When it came to renewal time, not only did the company not alert me that my auto-renewal (the default setting when you sign up) was imminent, but the price had also shot up without warning. Again, on complaining, their response was basically that I should have read the terms and conditions and refused to refund me the payment in whole or in part, despite my contacting them within hours of the payment going through. Yes, I should have read the Ts & Cs - but a decent company would have accepted they should have given me advance warning of the renewal and the price increase and would have made some gesture towards me. Sadly, this is anything but a decent company. Avoid!

Silver Singles somehow has my email address even though I never signed up. When I attempted to sign up and obtain a new password using my email address apparently in their system, their email submit field doesn’t accept any email address with the @ symbol, which is totally crazy. It also seems that Silver Singles does not have a customer service department. There is no email address for customer service. Probably because their software engineers haven’t figured out the @ symbol thingy. I suspect once you sign up and provide your credit card info, you will never be able to cancel your subscription. No customer service and horrible tech. STAY AWAY!

When I created my profile I didn't notice "Canada" at the bottom of the screen. I live in America. When I started receiving matches from Canada I realized my mistake. I contacted Silver Singles and had two requests. The second was "Change my country to America." The woman who responded answered my first request but ignored the second, more important one. So I'm still receiving matches from Canada. I had to contact Silver Singles a second time to ask that they change my country to America. Now I have to wait at least a day to get a response. I paid good money to get on Silver Singles. I expect good customer service for that amount of money. Now although I paid over $180 for my subscription, when I try to look at my (Canadian) matches I get taken to a screen that wants me to pay.
