We came to Dr. Shemmassian after my daughter got waitlisted to her dream school, UCLA. As an in-state candidate (Los Angeles) up against a waitlist of 10K+, we knew the odds were slim and we really needed her application to stand out.
The team assessed her application and essays, reviewed her strengths and weaknesses. They made suggestions to accentuate certain accomplishments, and helped restructure her essays so her application was presented in in the best possible light. The end result was an application that really shined through, and highlighted her accomplishments in a unique way that I could never imagine.
If you are here reading this review, then you already know what is good for you. Don’t wait, its the best investment one can make for their child. I only wish we had consulted Dr. Shemmassian earlier in the process. I will definitely be contacting Shemmassian Consulting for my other kids, and would recommend their services to anybody going through the college application process.

MCAT Exam Preparation and Medical School Applications
I genuinely believe the program provided an effective means of improving strategies in tackling the MCAT with direct personal tutoring and scheduling. Creating a working schedule with the tutor provided a more organized pattern for studying. On tutoring days, practicing direct passages with the tutor, who was more familiar with the test, was both effective and efficient in learning my own misunderstandings. It aided in the development of methodologies to approach questions more effective. The feedback and review really made learning more active, engaging and organized.
The assistance with my medical school applications was very helpful in editing my essays. The team provided feedback and content to be added to make my story for my personal statement and essays more appealing to the admissions audience. The rapid responses and continuous edits perfected my essays more than I could have accomplished independently, especially for my secondary essays.
The practice or mock video interviews made me feel very comfortable in approaching my own real-time interviews with schools. After hearing my good qualities and areas which needed perfection, preparation then began to focus attention on issues present when directly involved in a virtual interview as compared to an in-person interview. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person interviews were not held this year.
I believe Shemmassian’s team and program provided efficient methods in improving my MCAT scores and applications, especially the essays.
Substantial on-going Medical School competition for acceptance has made the investment with Shemmassian's consulting team very cost effective and worthwhile. Their services is guaranteed to improve the applicant's acceptance and admission to medical school. It must be noted, however, that the applicant's personal contributions of hard work, enhanced study habits and efforts are required too.

Happy Customer
I am extremely happy I chose to use Shemmassian Academic Consulting to help with my medical school application. I applied without any professional help my first attempt, and was shocked with how much improvement I saw in my application the next year by using their advice. I would highly recommend them. Very professional, efficient, and knowledgable.

Thank You All!
Dear Dr. Shemmassian, Dr. Sharjeel Syed, and everyone at Shemmassian Academic Consulting (SAC),
Thank you for your excellent medical school interview scholarship, great one-on-one advice, and free online articles, videos, and guidelines!
TLDR: After using SAC's free videos and articles to write my primaries, secondaries and secure multiple interviews, I was fortunate to win SAC's Interview Coaching Scholarship. My session with Dr. Sharjeel Syed and his subsequent guidance and availability throughout my cycle allowed me to secure ten acceptances at some of the best medical schools in the country! I'm heading to Johns Hopkins this fall on a full-ride scholarship!
Before writing my review, I read a few from here and saw a common theme from other's experiences which I felt the need to emphasize. I believe that Dr. Shemmassian and his team genuinely care about their students, parents, and applicants.
As someone, who couldn't afford my medical school application (FAP applicant), let alone professional advice, I found your free content especially useful. As I consumed all your videos and articles on medical school applications, I wondered why such great and organized information was simply available to the public. I almost felt guilty. Each content was written and made with care, creating the feeling that I spoke directly with Dr. Shemmassian himself. Your guides gave me excellent primers for my personal statement, activities sections on both my TMDSAS and AMCAS apps, and my secondaries. Following your expert advice, I received 18 interview invites! Thank you!
However, due to COVID-19, medical schools opted out of in-person interviews and held Zoom interviews for the duration of the 2020-2021 cycle. This update made an already unique process more convoluted. How different is a Zoom interview from a regular in-person one? What are the common courtesies and taboos of video interviews, and what in the world was a VITA? As much as I read and watched videos on these topics, I still felt like I was missing additional insight on the process and found it difficult to gauge my interviewing skills. When SAC picked me as one of their interview scholarship winners, I was elated! Here was my opportunity to polish my skills with a physician and a med school coach!
Dr. Syed, my interview coach, gave me a blueprint that led to ten acceptance offers and six post-interview waitlist offers! He gave me sound advice throughout the cycle, including reassurance that medical schools offer great aid for disadvantaged students and ways to discuss/negotiate financial aid packages if necessary. From all the great offers that I received, I committed to Johns Hopkins and will be starting there this fall!
Thank you so much for all your help throughout this challenging ordeal, and thank you for helping me get closer to my dream of becoming a physician.
Sincerely,
Uche Akoma

Super Excited!!
Dr. Shemmassian and Dr. Long were incredibly helpful and supportive through the entire process - and I had a quite complicated process. Applying as a BS/MD applicant in the middle of COVID was a very difficult task, but the thoughtful advice and essay edits provided by Dr. Long and the entire team made sure that I ended up getting into the program I wanted even with all the issues I had to work with. You will not regret working with this team!!

The BEST INVESTMENT you’ll ever make !
This is going to be the BEST INVESTMENT that you can make in yourself and your likelihood of getting into Med School (and hopefully your dream school).
I thought I was an excellent writer and that was true… but I was writing to the wrong audience !
Dr. Shirag Shemmassian and his elite team taught me to bring out the best parts of my application (and they told me how to do so in a crisp and precise manner (because every word matters in these applications when admissions readers parece through hundreds of applications a day)).
I got into Med School (at a 1% acceptance rate during the toughest application season in history (COVID-season) with a 2.88 undergraduate GPA, a 3.88 Masters GPA, and a 508 MCAT.
Clearly not a numbers guy, but my extensive shadowing experiences, research, and service functions had to carry me through to the finish line.
Dr. Shemmassian and his expert team guided me to frame my expectations under a realistic scope, only to then help me attain a spectacular outcome.
You get your money’s worth (and if anything, they are underselling themselves because they were there for me whenever I had any doubts, concerns, questions 5 months after they had helped me out) !
With anything in life, you need to make the best out of what you have, so use their expert expertise wisely !
