I booked an appointment, for my son, on Saturday and I was first impressed with the prompt appointment time, but the provider sent me a message a few minutes before the appointment stating they’re not able to help us. No response for an hour after that when I asked about canceling the appointment. Luckily I joined the appointment virtually and sat in an empty “room” for 20+ minutes and then the platform said “leave the room and we’ll refund since the provider didn’t show up”. Just wasn’t a great experience. Sesame isn’t worth the cost savings.

Watch their small print and policy
I had a good experience with the doctors and getting prescription is fast and easy. The reason for low rating is the companies bad policy. I got enrolled into their annual plan at $300/year, was unable to use it beyond 4 months and went to cancel it. Upon calling the company they say they do not offer partial refund. And I asked well can I use it for the remained of the 12 months, they said no because you have cancelled you would have to pay again. Absolutely unprofessional and crazy policy. Even the customer service rep thought it was stupid. This is how companies are getting away with fraud these days. READ THE SUPER SMALL PRINT AND DO NOT SIGN UP FOR AN ANNUAL PLAN unless you intend to use it for 12 months.

ZERO Customer Support, even after 9 FOLLOW Ups!!
The Doctor experience was great BUT I have asked if they have sent my prescription yet This is my NINE times during the last 10 days, with NO response!
Even when I call customer support, their system either automatically hangs up after being on hold for a few minutes, OR, they PROMISE to get back to me with an answer, and then NEVER do!
Don't use Sesame unless you love wasting hours of frustrating time, fruitlessly. Super frustrating.

My experience with Sesame
My experience with Sesame, particularly regarding prescription issues involving the Walgreens pharmacy on Elliot Road in Tempe, has been frustrating.
Before last month, I was looking into joining the weight loss program through Sesame. I completed the weight loss questionnaire, after which I was prompted to enter payment information and subscribe to Sesame Plus for $10 per month, which I believed was required in order to participate in the program. However, when I met with the provider, I was told that they were not associated with the weight loss program and that a refund would be issued. I then tried booking another appointment, but I had to call Sesame to confirm that this appointment also was not part of the weight loss program. That appointment had to be canceled, and the agent I spoke with directed me to the correct subscription, called Success by Sesame. Only after enrolling in the proper program was I able to be seen for a Wegovy prescription.
Last month, I also had problems with my prescription. It was initially sent to Walmart Pharmacy, but Walmart told me they had never received the prescription. Because the issue could not be resolved, the prescription eventually had to be transferred to Walgreens. I still had to follow up multiple times and go back and forth trying to determine whether it had actually been sent and what the out-of-pocket cost would be. It took a significant amount of time and effort just to ensure I would be able to get my medication.
This month, my prescription was initially sent to Walgreens. I was unable to see the price on the Sesame website, unlike the first month, (at which time my first prescription also came with a GoodRX coupon by default without going to the manufacturer's website to redeem the manufacturer reduced price, which wasn't the case this time), so I called Walgreens and was told that my out-of-pocket cost would be over $1,000. I declined and had the prescription transferred to CVS instead.
I then went to the manufacturer's website and obtained a coupon that reduced my out-of-pocket cost to $200. After CVS began giving me problems, I decided to transfer the prescription back to Walgreens. Before doing so, I called Walgreens to confirm whether they would accept the coupon, and they assured me that it would bring the cost down to $200. However, Walgreens later told me they never received the prescription after it had been sent from CVS. Even after the prescription was resent to Walgreens, I was told the same thing, and the issue remained unresolved. I then had to contact Sesame again to see what was going on. Sesame told me they had contacted the pharmacy and that I could pick it up at 3 p.m. on 6/17/26. I wanted to call to check on the status with the pharmacy, but I was on hold for a while. After finally getting through, they confirmed that they had received the prescription, that my out-of-pocket cost would be $200, and when it would be ready. Only then was the issue finally resolved.
As a result, I spent hours trying to locate my medication and coordinate between the pharmacies and my provider. I expected clearer communication and better coordination from Sesame. Instead, I experienced confusion, inconsistent information, numerous phone calls, and unnecessary stress.
I am tired of having to jump through hoops to get basic issues resolved, which is why I canceled Sesame and will not be using their service again. The lack of coordination and support throughout this process only added to the frustration.

I booked a mental health appointment…
I booked a mental health appointment for anxiety with a specific provider and waited nearly a week for the visit. When the appointment time came, no one showed up. Sesame acts as a marketplace but appears not to verify provider availability before confirming appointments. This wasted my time, affected my health, and reflects poor accountability.

Lack of manners, bad doctors
Most doctors there have no interest in you or manners. They just want to prescribe something and get rid of you ASAP. Conversations rarely last more than 5 minutes. It's not even about time spent on me. It's about attitude and lack of common courtesy. They talk to you like you're some fly annoying them and distracting from something important. Looks like they take appointments in the middle of their regular work day and they only care about taking your $50 for 3 minutes of talking to them and getting rid of you ASAP. Often they don't even say bye or disappear if you're 1 minute late. On top of that, once I was prescribed a horse dosage of medicine that made me sicker than I already was. Simple Google search confirmed that this dose is dangerous. Last time I used it I had bacterial lungs infection, the doctor prescribed me HORMONAL IMMUNE SUPPRESSANT AND CAUGH SUPPRESSANT. Simple Google search and common sense tell anyone with an IQ over 70, that when your immune system is trying to fight a bacteria you shouldn't be trying to suppress it. Caugh helps mucus come out of the lungs. If I stop coughing, it will stay there. Which is why last time I had the same infection a month ago and I was prescribed same meds, it did not help the way it should and the infection reappeared soon again. I will not use Sesame again. $50 for 3 minutes of talking to a bad doctor.

Check your credit card statement. Sesame may be charging you for something you don't expect.
I was using Sesame Care for my GLP prescription. A year or so ago, I prepaid for a year's supply of GLP medication. I purchased it that way because the company offered me the opportunity to do so, as they were aware that the prescription would no longer be available within the next year.
10 months later, the prescription was no longer available because the government, in its infinite wisdom, decided to deprive people of the opportunity to buy affordable weight loss medication. To Sesame's credit, they did give me a refund for the two months of medication that I had paid for but did not receive. However, when I checked my credit card bill this month, I discovered that Sesame was billing me $89 a month for a Sesame subscription. I had no idea they would do that (they did not inform me in advance). The only plan I ever had with Sesame was for weight loss medication, and when THEY (not me) canceled that plan, I assumed that I would owe them no more money. I was wrong. Instead, they were charging me $89 a month for a subscription I did not need and did not request. They would not refund the money I paid for that.
If you are in the same situation as me, please check your credit card bill carefully. You, too, might be being charged for something you did not request and do not want.

Subscribed and prepaid for 12 months…
Subscribed and prepaid for 12 months only received 9 months of product. Then two months later a random charge of $89. I was never on their monthly subscription. The reviews on here seems to be padded. At least it was a total scam. I got 9 months worth of product.
