I used sequencing for testing and running uploaded files. I tried the subscription service for a few months. Pros: the things that work are simple to use for beginners 30x (at the time I did it) was valid when compared to clinically run genome (should not be used clinically!) Ability to upload outside files Cons Site errors, billing errors, customer service issues Outdated reporting Clunky implementation of genome browser despite updates with poor variant calls (i.e. benign variant being called pathogenic) likely not updated to current concensus Bare minimum 30x = valid but missing a lot of information. About 12% of clinically relevant could not be reliably called due to a depth of <10. 4% of clinically relevant were miscalls when examined on igv I don't recommend using sequencing If you do choose to, please consider the above points and don't panic at any results (also if you believe you or your child have a genetic disorder- please consider full depth testing)

Hi Sarah - Thank you for your feedback. I apologize about the errors you encountered - they were related to a major site upgrade that occurred in November and as of January, all errors have been resolved and all of the benefits of the site upgrade can now be obtained. The variant calls you are referring to regarding benign vs pathogenic appear to be related to our older version of Genome Explorer (version 2). Version 2 was deprecated at the end of January. The new version of Genome Explorer (version 3) that everyone now receives access to now has clarified the use of terminology such as Benign and Pathogenic. Version 3 data is also updated every week and month with numerous databases based on the latest published research including the NIH's NCBI ClinVar database. IGV is a third-party genome viewer that is very clunky tool that is known to be unreliable in properly displaying WGS data from BAMs and genome VCFs, which is why we do not offer it in our marketplace. Here's a list of the known, unresolved issues impacting IGV browser: https://github.com/igvteam/igv/issues
