Good facilities, poor customer experience. Take your business elsewhere.
This review is for the San Francisco facility. I used Self Storage for 6-7 years, up to December 2015. I found the facility and its location to be just fine, but the management seemed to raise the rent at every opportunity. Doing that every few years is understandable, but it happened at least once a year and I soon didn't feel I was getting the good value for money that I had when I first signed up. That's taking into account the expected increase a few months after the initial teaser rates that they offer. Also, management were very aggressive in chasing down my occasional late payments, with phone calls and menacing emails starting as soon as the payment was a few days late. Again, expecting to be paid on time is totally reasonable, but if a customer has loyally stuck with you a number of years you should cut them some slack when they occasionally pay late. Especially since these customers are even more profitable for you because they pay the late fee. There was never any attempt to form a relationship with me as a customer. Overall, a poor experience that felt like it was designed by lawyers and not entrepreneurs who value their customers as individuals. I wouldn't do business with this company again, and they don't deserve your business either.
