Spring Coursework E.
Student
I think it is incredible that students are able to complete coursework in 5 weeks. I thought that the work was manageable and the exams were tough but I felt that the workload was hard because accelerated but reasonable for the most part. What was not fair was the use of Proctorio for proctoring and it was an absolutely horrible experience. Their platform does not give you a small window to see yourself during the exam the way the proctoring site is able to see you. Your entire exam shuts down and pop up windows won't stop interrupting you if you are out of the proctoring window but it does not tell you what error is made so you can fix it and it does not show you a window to see yourself and figure out/troubleshoot if you are out of the testing window frame. Professors threaten SCUHS's policy to turn you in for academic dishonesty and fail your exam if you get the pop up window. Its incredibly stressful when trying to perform well on these exams. You only get 2 shots at keeping a decent exam grade average so for there to be so much distraction from the proctor site. Your school should be using Honorlock or Proctor U. If I was desperate enough to finish another course quickly I would consider SCUHS again but would probably go back to the other school that offers online pre-med pre-reqs since UNE actually uses Honorlock and they offer retakes in the event there is a proctoring issue rather than threatening to fail you and turn you in for academic dishonesty. You get several emails in 5 weeks about academic dishonesty but professors just copy and paste SCUHS's agenda for weekly posts and they don't even have the diligence to change the dates. I had to reach out to 2 different professors with the same "template" and both professors from different courses made the same mistake of not proofing and sent due dates from a different season. This is not the quality I hoped for when I personally took $2,000 of credit card debt to take a single 3 credit course. Like I said, I loved the accelerated pace and accessibility so I if I was desperate enough, I would do it again but I can not recommend it to anyone as the quality is quite poor in regards to the professional standard for how much this course is costing out of pocket.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We are pleased to hear that you found the accelerated format manageable and appreciated the accessibility our program provides for students pursuing prerequisite coursework. We also recognize the concerns you raised regarding the online proctoring experience, course communication, and overall value, and we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. Student feedback plays a central role in helping us evaluate and improve the learning experience for all AS students, and we thank you for sharing your experience.
