The teacher cared more about the position of my camera than the work itself. When ordering my transcript and after waiting for it to be sent for a while, I called many times to discover that their system was down. Very irresponsible not to even send an email saying their system was down- that I had to call myself. In order to get my transcript, I had to make many phone calls and was treated very poorly. The customer service was terrible. The professor was very nice, but as I said, she cared more about the position of my camera than anything else. Very disappointing.

Horrible experience
Horrible experience. The school was nonresponsive when I initially signed up and tried to get info for my class. I finally got my login about 36 hours before the class started. The instructor was weird about the lockdown browser. (I've had plenty of online classes before that use a lockdown browser and have never had any problems with it. But with SCUHS, the instructor kept adding new things he wanted me to do with my external web cam instead of just telling me upfront.) We got our assignments on Monday of the first week of class to be turned in on Sunday. I submitted everything on Thursday. On Friday night, the instructor posted an orientation video in which he showed how he wanted the assignments to look (i.e., with things not in the instructions).
The whole thing was just a mess. I asked about my refund several days after withdrawing. They couldn't find my withdrawal. I'm skeptical that they are going to honor the refund policy. The whole school is disorganized and poorly run.
It feels like this is a group of people working out of a garage or their parents' basement or something.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations and appreciate you taking the time to bring these concerns to our attention.
We strive to provide clear information and support to students throughout the enrollment and course process. For prospective students, we provide detailed information about our courses, policies, and expectations on our website to help ensure students have the information they need prior to enrollment. Once enrolled, students also have access to multiple support resources beyond the instructor, including drop-in sessions with an Academic Coordinator who can assist with course expectations, assignments, and technical requirements.
Our faculty and staff follow a communication response policy of responding to student inquiries within 36 hours, and in many cases we are able to respond even sooner. Additionally, our Respondus lockdown browser policies and expectations are communicated through multiple channels, including email communications, course announcements, instructional videos, and guidance assignments.
We take all student concerns seriously. If you would like to discuss your experience at SCUHS, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We would be happy to assist.

Teachers do not teach and then make…
Teachers do not teach and then make exams exceptionally difficult for no reason. Then fail you on the “lockdown browser” protocols for the most ridiculous things like a milliliter of the camera frame being out of view. This is coming from a student that has received only A’s. It is a money grab and they don’t care about student success in the slightest. Another example: one time I asked the professor for important topics that might be covered on the exam and he responded “any topic that was highlighted as important in the textbook” which was 18 chapters of material and EVERY SINGLE WORD/PAGE was highlighted. A study guide was not provided nor lecture slides.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with our Accelerated Sciences course. We’re sorry to hear that it didn’t meet your expectations. Your feedback is important to us, and we take concerns like yours seriously.
Our courses are designed to be academically rigorous, as they condense a full semester’s content into a much shorter time frame. That said, we understand how challenging that can feel—which is why we are continuously working to improve our exams and the availability of study resources.
At SCUHS, our students are our North Star. We are deeply committed to supporting their success through a variety of resources, including tutoring services with qualified faculty, exam review sessions, drop-in hours with Accelerated Sciences leadership, and after-hours enrollment support, to name a few.
Regarding exam protocols and the use of the lockdown browser, our primary goal is to maintain academic integrity in a remote learning environment. These guidelines are in place to ensure fairness for all students. We strive to communicate these policies clearly through weekly announcements, confirmation quizzes, tutorial videos, and Week 1 orientation sessions. When students encounter compliance issues, our team proactively reaches out to offer support and guidance.
We truly appreciate your feedback—it helps us grow and better serve our students. We wish you continued success in your academic journey.

Dr. Fathi does not get back to emails. The tests are unreasonably hard and not fully like the lectures we learn.

Horribly expensive with no instructor
The classes are so expensive with the most minimal instruction from professors. You essentially have to teach yourself the material at an accelerated pace and you have one week to decide if you’re capable of doing that before you get a half refund. I was able to cancel within the first week and owed 1/3 of the price of tuition. With all of the non refundable fees (including a $100 fee you pay in order to pay your tuition. Which is different from the $70 registration fee), I got about $2000 back on my class that cost me $3700 originally with tuition and fees because I cancelled it within four days of beginning the class. It was truly such a scam. Maybe it would be good if one of your prerequisites expired but you’ve already taken the course and need zero instruction and your willing to pay 3700 for a self instructed lecture and lab

Thank you for your feedback. We understand that cost and instructional support are important factors in choosing a course, and we want to assure you that SCU offers some of the most affordable options in the nation. We are committed to providing unparalleled support for our students from start to finish, which includes weekly check-ins, office hours, on-demand tutoring, and many other resources to help ensure success.
Regarding our tuition refund policy, the details are as follows: Withdrawing in Week 1: 75% tuition refund. Withdrawing in Week 2: 50% tuition refund. Withdrawing in Week 3: 25% tuition refund. Withdrawing in Weeks 4 or 5: No refund available. One important caveat is that we do allow students who have decided not to begin their course the opportunity to receive a full tuition refund up to 14 days after classes start if they have not yet completed any assignments.
Specifically it looks like you were taking a lab and lecture which totaled 5 credits, which meant your total tuition for lecture and lab at $515 a credit hour was $2,575 plus a $100 registration fee, so you paid a total of $2,675 for your courses. Later when you requested a withdrawal at the end of the first week, since you had not begun your lab you were provided a 100% tuition refund. For your lecture, however, since you had already completed assignments for that first week, unfortunately we were not able to provide a full refund and our prorated tuition policy was applied. You were then refunded a total of $2,060. I am not sure where you have a total of $3700 paid, as you were only ever registered for that lab and lecture in our program.
Overall, we regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, but we appreciate your feedback as we continue to enhance our academic programs and student support services.

The professors are not mindful of the accelerated nature of the course, they do not make the PowerPoints or study guide and the recorded lectures are just them reading over the slides. This course has not been thought out. I don’t recommend anyone take it.
