When I first started using the blazing bull during the winter months, I thought the idea of cooking fast was incredible. As the temperatures warmed up, I started using my Big Green Egg charcoal grill and found that the steaks cooked on the blazing bull were not as tasty from a chargrilling taste standpoint. The reason they did not taste as good is that cooking with the heat sources above the steaks, The steaks do not get that chargrilled flavor from the fat dripping on the charcoal or gas grill flavorizer bars.

Hi Walter, sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the taste. The flavor of the steak is enhanced by adding butters, spices, and oils to the drip tray below. The meat juices drip into the tray and mix together to make delicious sauces which can be poured on the steak afterwards. Overhead heating allows you collect all the juices in the drip tray which is actually a benefit and it also prevents damage to the burners. Everyone has their own preference for taste but we do believe we can help you enhance the steak taste with a few tips.
