I opened an account with Schwab before the pandemic, because I thought the no-fee for international atm's was a great perk. Everything was fine with the account for a few years, then I got a letter saying my account would be closed due to inactivity if I did not contact them. So I did, and the gentlemen on the phone said he would mark my account so that it would not be closed. Sure enough, my account balance (around $600) was moved into unclaimed property without any additional notice from the bank. I'm now going through the process to reclaim my funds.

Had wire transfer issues like others. Something is wrong with their system. Put 12 day hold on a transfer for no reason wouldn't give it back and wouldn't send it out. Rep was no help with any issue i had. "We have to be careful with our customers money including yours" was their matra but no explanations and blaming the payroll company that wired money into my account as part of the problem; saying they've never heard of that company before. It was a WALMART payroll account. The rep spoke perfect American English... I was at a loss. Now I'll have to pay to close the account from what i understand. Never got to try the ATM reimbursement. Update: 1 month later my account is finally unlocked and i can get my money. Spent about 2 hours all together on the phone with different departments (5 differnt people). Reasons they gave for this issue was "it doesn't seem right", people don't use bank accounts as conduits for transfers and withdrawals (= mind blown), i wanted to transfer funds too soon after opening account, and complained that i shouldn't want to transfer money out of my account to a trading firm because i should use them to day trade. Everything was fine till i tried to transfer money out of my account.

They are terrible didn't even notify me that my account was being closed they don't even disclose the reason behind it don't waste your time they had me thinking I could deposit and even transfer one of my whole brokerage accounts and checking account

I wish I could leave negative stars. Like many thousands of others I was left with a food order unpaid and no notice whatsoever from Schwab that my account had been suspended. This is now day four of no access to funds, bills unpaid, and I haven't eaten going on two days. They cannot still tell me why my account is frozen,can't do anything about it, and just give me runaround. I'm currently starving so Schwab can "protect" me.

I opened a Roth IRA with Charles Schwab in February 2022. In April 2022 I received a letter that they were closing the account with no explanation and I had 30 days to liquidate the account. I called to find out why the account was being closed and all they would say was it was a business decision. I liquidated the account and transferred the funds to a different Roth IRA. Charles Schwab charged me $75 in fees for the transfer that had to happen because of their "business" decision. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service shown by Charles Schwab with regard to my account. I respect their right to make a business decision but I do not understand why the basis for that decision is not provided to me and then I'm charged fees to resolve their decision.

They claim to have an International account service, but really it isn't. For example in Europe they accept only Germany and Spain . The other 25 European countries are not supported.

3/30/2022 It is the worst of the worst bank in the whole universe. From 2018 the bank regular staff, supervisors and local branch made non stop mistakes providing inaccurate phone customer service. I always wrote down the name of the staff I spoke to. Even today it was Kalsey who closed my account without my authorization. I asked her if mailing a cashier check balance to me would close my account? She confirmed NO. Wrong! Liar! My account was closed. That bank cannot be trusted. Be aware and do not open an account. One star is too much for that mediocre bank of my nightmares.

Schwab is the worst platform for day trading options. 1. Bad fills 2. Website stalls 3. Too many clicks on different webpages to place an order 4. Bad option chain 5. Even streetsmartcentral does not help. Moving away from this asap.
