My recently bought out (TD AMERITRADE) brokerage account... by the Schwab Co.. Nothing but delays and limitations 4 weeks later. They've limited my purchases on penny-stocks. Money transferred in for use has been held unusable for more than 2-3 day's. CLOSING AND DISCONTINUING ALL USE OF schwab.

Over a Month ago my account has been locked by Charles Schwab and to this day it has not been resolved. Since we are both retired this has been a problem. Customer services has not been any help. I feel I am going around in circles with them. They have ask me to fax them an ID but the picture was not good enough for them. I had some one dropped off copy of my ID at one of the branches since I no longer live in the US. They are having trouble finding it. Ill be moving my funds elsewhere.

Charles Schwab is definitely not a company for anyone that trades options in a 'portfolio margin' account. Unlike another firm, which calls me on the phone, if there is a problem, so I can 'roll' my position without any losses, Charles Schwab's portfolio margin department simply liquidated a few positions, resulting in a 140k loss for me. Once I noticed what they had done, I called them, but they didn't care.

Charles Schwab mutual fund customer service is decidedly inferior to Vanguard and Fidelity. Account statements take a long time to post. I called Customer Service and was told that they could send a statement via fax or US mail only! No email or download portal. This is 2023 according to my calendar.

without a sweep account into acceptable returns (meaning less that .5%) they are using idle money to make outsized returns - they did this with my accounts a few years back and it took massive effort to get reimbursed interest income that was certainly due. Fidelity has an auto sweep into accounts that reflect current rates........... schwab is scamming ...... its that simple

Bad. The worst. I started an account a couple of months ago in preparation for a trip to Hong Kong, funded the account and activated the debit card. The first time I tried to use it, it was blocked. I don't get voice minutes or international calling on cards when I travel because I've never needed them. The only way to contact them is by dialing a phone. Nothing in the app. No email. No working local or international numbers. When I finally found a way to contact them by phone, they left me on hold fifteen minutes, then told me the department I needed closed two minutes ago. I've been here one week with no access to my money. Astounding incompetence.

It was a pretty decent bank, but over the last year, I've had to call on multiple occasions. Hold times a ridiculous, and when you do reach someone, they really aren't much help.

I am admittedly an inexperienced investor. I had nearly $50,000.00 in my company 501K. I transferred it to Charles Schwab. Over a period if 16 months, nearly every monthly statement showed comparatively large losses of $2000 to over $5000. Each time I called my advisor, at least 5 times. He would say he would look into it or even worse allude to the fact that I was overreacting because the subject account was "not the biggest part of my portfolio." Not once did he offer to change the investments abd worse yet, never told me I could take the money out of the market altogether without penalties and simply put it in a savings account. I ended up losing over $40,000. Had I left it alone in my SurePayroll 401K and never gotten involved with Charles Schwab or any of their "advisors," I would still have the original $43,000.00.
