Why the heck did they not keep the much better TD Ameritrade platform in the merger???
What the heck happened??? TD Ameritrade had such a useful and very clearly organized website. For a very long time after the formal acquisition by Charles Schwab we were told how much better the web experience would become once our accounts are completely moved to Charles Schwab. Who develops their trading platform??? Charles Schwab's website absolutely "sucks". It's almost unusable. Lot's of important information is missing, it is extremely slow, and their accounting of transactions during the TD->CS move is ridiculously confusing and seems not to add up on first sight, because they lump together some transactions while they itemize others. The customer has a very hard time understanding why their accounts apparently lost money during the move from TD Ameritrade. I am definitely exploring options to move my Roth IRAs somewhere else where I can actually invest money in a similarly convenient way as was possible with TD Ameritrade. Whoever was in charge of the merger should have made the executive decision to keep Ameritrade's platform and retire this ridiculously limited Charles Schwab trading platform. The lack of functionality is appalling.
