I opened the schwab bank account online, set up my direct deposit for my salary. then a few days later, the account is restricted for identity verification. Had numerous calls, uploaded all sorts of documents required. Even though I've been told all account should be functioning now, I can see my checking account is still restricted, only the brokerage account status is changed. It is worth noting this has been going on for over a month... and the fact that my 401k account is also with schwab where identity is fully vetted there makes this whole thing looks ridiculous...

I called the Main Street, SanFrancisco customer service number, 866 - 855 - 9102 on 11/30/2023 to discuss secondary issues of t-bills. They transferred me after a 20 minute hold to their fixed income department. The fixed income representative did not want to answer my question, but rather proceded to tell me how to do an online purchase. He was a bully. When I complained, he put me on hold again. I called another Schwab office and their fixed income department respectfully addressed my questions. Recommend not calling the San Francisco office.

It's impossible to reach anyone, sub standard phone service, can't wait to liquidate my account and move it elsewhere. Just trying to log onto my own account became impossible and they changed my password without my ok. Waiting and waiting and waiting for a callback.

Charles Schwab does not care, period. I had my IRA account with TD Ameritrade for a dozen years without any issues. Once Charles Schwab took over everything went to hell. I have a non resident account and they simply don't care. All they do is keep quoting their company policy without regard for what the Tax Treaty says. How can it be that their company policy takes precedent over rules and regulations. If you are a non US resident don't deal with them and save yourself a bunch of headaches.

Bank is rude. I tried to invest and they left counterfeit shares in my account for almost a year. Please don’t invest with them. Thank you!!

I wish I could give it less than 1 star ZERO !!!! would be more appropriate ! I was with price waterhouse over 30 years ago then TD waterhouse and now schwab !!! They are absolutely HORRIBLE !!! Extremely rude customer service and totally no help at all. I am switching my account tomorrow to Fidelity because these jerks are wasting my life !

Schwab allows ThinkorSwim chat admins to represent them in a negative light, but doesn't have any control over the platform stating that it is like a Facebook Group Page where the admins get to do whatever they want. Good Job Schwab. The lady who helped me close my account was nice though.

Schwab needs to get rid of their extra staff to be efficient. Schwab was a great company for years but became a service-terrible giant brokage/bank. To do a simple thing, like notarizing a Schwab document, at their retail branch, one has to make an appointment days ahead by calling their branch office while calling their branch office is never answered, even after leaving messages.
