This is the worst platform. Ever since they took over thinkorswim from TD Ameritrade. Most of the time it seems to be down. This is the worst trading platform for active traders. Very poor

My experience with Charles Schwab as a financial institution has been extremely disappointing. Despite having two-factor authentication enabled on my account—which requires a verification code via text message for login—someone accessed my account without authorization on November 11 and sold my stock. Alarmingly, I did not receive the required verification code during this incident. When I contacted customer support, their response was deeply unsatisfactory. The representatives claimed that I had initiated the stock sale myself. However, when I pressed them about the missing verification code, they were unable to provide a clear or satisfactory explanation. This is a serious issue involving a significant amount of money. I request that Charles Schwab promptly restore my stock position to what it was in my account before this incident.

Tried to rollover an IRA in person at a branch...no advisors came out to help, new, overworked clerical gave us forms to fill out after a half-hour wait. Went to Fidelity and they stayed late to get us started.

I have been with Charles Schwab for almost 20 years, but my recent experience has left me frustrated and disillusioned. One glaring issue is their $50 transfer fee per account — including individual retirement accounts. To charge hardworking retirees who’ve spent their lives saving and investing for their future feels not just unfair, but downright exploitative, especially when comparing Charles Schwab to competitors like Fidelity, which doesn’t impose any fees for transfers. Another significant concern is the interest paid on cash balances. Charles Schwab offers a mere 0.2% per year, while Fidelity pays 4.5%. This disparity is substantial and puts Charles Schwab clients at a significant disadvantage, particularly older folks who hold a larger portion of their retirement portfolios in cash. It’s disappointing that a company trusted by so many for decades has lost its touch and is no longer in tune with the needs of its clients.

Very poor app, customer service for app thinkorswin is so bad!!! Cannot wait for a platform like TD again that got nothing to do with this people….so bad experience

As others mentioned in reviews, I did not choose Schwab. My account was transferred from TD Ameritrade. Prior to the “merger,” transactions were relatively quick and simple. After the “merger,” transactions were convoluted for reasons others have described in reviews. Things got worse when they cancelled a transfer and locked my online account without any explanation. After talking to several reps, I was on the phone with yet another rep who was allegedly helping me restore access to my online account. After correctly answering all security questions and being on the phone with her for at least ten minutes, as she walked me through the steps, she then said “you sound really young.” She decided that she could no longer help me and that I had to go to the retail store in person. Annoyingly, I had already been to the store the week prior. I went back and had my ID “verified” for the fourth time in maybe 2-3 months. Do not use this company if you have any kind of age anomaly, or just like unconvoluted service.
