Over the years I have had pretty good experiences with Schwab. A few years ago they did have a problem with their international accounts where we could not move money from our US bank accounts anymore, but they got this sorted out in time. They answer the phone quickly and generally make good sense when you talk to them. They are one of the best brokers I deal with.

The folks on the phone and in Chat at the US site were extremely helpful and kind. It would have been 5 stars, but there is a lack in the FAQs that should be corrected (funds settlement and transfers).

I have been using Schwab for years now and they are great for personal banking and light investing. I personally really like that they refund ATM fees and the convenience of their robotrader.

I'm writing about my legitimate experience, about 2 years with this company. I don't work for them. I'm not a paid performer, trying to slander them and recommend another company. Charles Schwab in my experience is a good company with some attitude, but a good company. No company, other than Revolut gets a 5 star rating from me, but 4 stars is great. I highly recommend Charles Schwab. Dont be fooled by fake paid reviews on Trustpilot and Yelp, its a clear and obvious lie. Anyone who has the cheek to slander a great company like Charles Schwab, doesn't know one single legitimate thing about Charles Schwab. You can tell their reviews are fake, for one thing, the company does not give you access to your personal funds till 3 days after they are sent, not 2 days, secondly they are everyone of them recommending other trading platforms. Trustpilot needs to get wise to this and stop allowing these kinds of posts.

Schwab customer for more than a decade here. In general, no significant issues. It's easy to move money in and out without fees or long delays, unlike many other brokers. They also have their own bank (Schwab Bank), so your accounts have a Schwab routing number, unlike almost every other brokerage that uses custodial accounts at another bank and can create complications. No-transaction-fee mutual fund selection is quite good compared to other brokers. Overall fee burden is low. Some of the posters here don't know about "pattern day trader" rules, or clearing days for equity trades. While irritating, these rules apply to all brokers, so please learn about them before complaining about Schwab specifically. Schwab's margin rates are quite high, so would advise against using Schwab for that. Also, Schwab refuses to approve option trading on more than one non-IRA brokerage account, which is annoying and makes no sense.

I actually like Schwab a lot, and I feel more comfortable having my money there than almost anywhere else. They don't make much money off of me. For a while they were trying to get me to use their advisory services (cha-ching!), but after I asked them to stop, they did. So I've been a customer for years, and will be for the foreseeable future. Having said that, I find it stunning that there is even a single employee of Schwab who doesn't know what a rate of return is. My Portfolio Performance page clearly shows an 80% total return from 2017 through 2022, but is labelled "Rate of return". If I had actually had a rate of return of 80% - that is, growing my portfolio by 80% on average every year - I'd be sipping a fruity drink on a beach somewhere.

I've been investing in stocks using this site for a couple months now. The User interface can be a bit confusing at times, but their customer service is quite helpful and makes up for this.
