Outstanding trip planned by SAVacation
Our group of ten is on the last leg of our Chilean and Bolivian adventure. We have wanted to visit Atacama Desert in Chile and the Salt Flat in Uyuni, Bolivia for a very long time. We decided to do a post Miami to Rio cruise to these two world famous destinations. I found SAVacation online three years ago when we decided to go to Easter Island after our Patagonia Expedition cruise. Martha did a fantastic job then. It was a no brainer to ask her to plan our trip this time. This is certainly a very difficult itinerary for a travel planner. Martha proposed a plan which I accepted without any question. I received a call from Martha when we were waiting for our midnight flight to Santiago, Chile at Rio de Janeiro airport. Martha informed me that due to abnormal heavy rain, the all-inclusive high-end resort had just been closed. She was able to find 5 rooms in a 3-star hotel in town. She would arrange transportation to pick us up at Calama airport. The all-inclusive property had included airport puckup. I told Martha that we had no choice since we were boarding in less than 30 minutes. I received a text from Martha when we landed at Santiago. She managed to persuade Explora to put us up. When I checked in at Explora, the manager told me that she and Martha had worked through the night to shuffle rooms around to accommodate us. By the way, Explora is more expensive than the other high-end resort she booked us. We were all psychologically prepared to down grade since we had waited so long for this trip. We cannot thank Martha enough for working so hard to give us an over-the-top experience at Explora in San Pedro de Atacama. The visit to Uyuni Salt Flat will be forever remembered as one of the most memorable places we had visited. Martha arranged a full picnic lunch with wine and a snack and wine and afternoon snack. Both times, folding tables with umbrellas and chairs were set up in the swallow water of the salt flat. As far as I could see, we were the only one enjoying such royal treatment. There were hundreds of 4-wheel drive vehicle around us. Our guide told us 600-1000 vehicles visited every day We are leaving La Pax in a few hours. The half-day tour Martha arranged was also very interesting The overall planning is just outstanding. We are benefactors of SAVacations and Martha’s excellent service. I just cannot thank Martha enough for her dedication and expertise.
