Solid Service from NY to CA with Minor Hiccups
I used Safemile Auto Transport to ship my car from Great Neck, NY to Laguna Hills, CA. The price was fair — originally quoted at $1,500 but negotiated to $1,220 — and the pickup went smoothly. The driver was professional, did a proper inspection, and the car was delivered in good condition with no damage. The main issue was communication and delivery timing. I was told the trip would take 6–7 days, but the car was pushed for delivery only 4 days after pickup, well before I arrived in California. I had to chase updates myself, and at one point the carrier threatened storage fees if I couldn’t accept early. In the end, the dispatcher worked with me and arranged delivery the evening I landed, but the process was more stressful than it needed to be. Overall, Safemile delivered as promised, and the price was solid for cross-country open transport. Just make sure to get the delivery window clearly confirmed in writing and expect to be proactive about communication.
