Just found out they have been charging my fiancé for her mother for the past 10 years on her auto insurance. The thing is her mother doesn't even have and never has had a license. Now her agent won't return her calls or messages and she can't even access her policy or bill online

I was in an accident with a Safeco…
I was in an accident with a Safeco customer a year ago. There customer hit me in a head on collision and I broke 5 bones. For that reason I was unable to work for 8 months. Now to show how shady of a company they are they are only try to settle with me for 20,000. They are just a terrible unethical company period. There customer was at fault and was actually given a citation for driving on the wrong side of the road. Terrible company

Buyer beware!!
Buyer beware!!! I previously had auto insurance with Liberty Mutual, and my policy was later transferred to Safeco. Unfortunately, my experience went downhill from there. Changes were made to my account without my knowledge, and I had a very difficult time reaching a representative. When I did get through, customer service was unable or unwilling to clearly explain what was happening. I updated my policy to include another car and my policy increased by 200%, exceeding my monthly car payment by $200 a month.
When I decided to cancel my policy, I specifically asked for the final amount owed so I could settle the balance immediately. The representative could not provide the information and stated I would get a confirmation by email by the end of the day. I never received an email. Then, 30 days after canceling, I was notified that my remaining balance had already been sent to collections, without any prior clear communication or opportunity to resolve it.
To make matters worse, I received the collections notice on a Saturday by text, leaving me unable to address it until business hours resumed. Their online link leads to an error. This entire experience was frustrating and stressful. I would strongly recommend doing thorough research and choosing an insurance provider with transparent communication, due diligence, and reliable customer service.

Shady Business
I purchased an auto insurance policy on 1/15/26 and paid $90.27 (by ACH as insurance premiums are charged) at that time for the month. They told me the total yearly coverage was $1046 ($1046/12mo=$87.16 per month). I ended up canceling the policy on 2/13/26 due to finding cheaper insurance. On 3/16/26 I received a paper bill in the mail charging me $101.21. When I questioned the additional bill, they said I had not paid the monthly premium. They said that the original charge of $90.27 was the "sign on" fee and the $101.21 was the actual insurance coverage bill. What insurance charges at the end of the covered period? And why was I not told that the initial charge of $90.27 was a "sign on" fee? I very highly do NOT recommend this shady business.

I was with Safeco for 2 years
I was with Safeco for 2 years. When their rates went way up, I switched insurance companies. Well, right at my 6 month payment with the new company, all of a sudden there's a collection notice and my credit rating dropped 60 pts (causing my renewal with the new company to go up $150 for the next 6 mos). After investigation it was Safeco who turned me over to collections for non-pymt of insurance premiums!! I never received anything from them via mail, email, text, etc that there was any balance due. Seems way too coincidental that this happened right at the 6 mos renewal with my new company. I was able to straighten it out (seems they didn't cancel my ins until 30 days after I verbally notified them) with Safeco, but not after spending 2-1/2 hours of my time and lots of frustration. I can say I'll never use Liberty Mutual/Safeco again and will make sure I tell everyone I know about my experience.
