I purchased this Ruffwear harness on May 8 and have been using it for exactly one month. Yesterday, I noticed that one of the plastic adjustment components had cracked. When the harness arrived, I expected the attachment point for the leash clip to be made of metal. However, it feels more like plastic—perhaps a higher-quality material, but it appears to be coated or finished to look like metal. I am disappointed because the harness has not been used for very long. The design is excellent, it is lightweight, comfortable, and overall looks great. Unfortunately, the hardware and small components raise concerns about durability and quality, especially considering the price.

Bought Ruffwear Polar Trex which are advertised as weatherproof and “highly” water repellent, after a 3km walk on wet footpath (not walking through puddles!!) the dogs paws were saturated! Can’t recommend!

Ruffwear used to be the go to for quality. I have two front leaders that are over 10 years old. They’ve been through the mill and still look in really good shape. But something has happened to the brand. A couple of years ago I bought a flagline and it disintegrated at the straps. I thought it was a one off, maybe faulty, so purchased another. My dog walked past some brambles and one snagged the harness and it ripped! So disappointed - and they’re not cheap and cheerful. I expect the harness to last more than one walk.

The products are great, the order was wrong and the customer service is so arduous! Their form wouldn't take any of my return "numbers" There are 3, our order#, customer order# and Customer #, it wouldn't take any of them. Then you have to schedule a call in PT which is generally in the middle of everyone's day for the rest of the country. When did they become so customer unfriendly? I've ordered from them for over a decade and it gets worse and worse every year. What happened to them?

My 16 w/o puppy bit through the Ruffwear rubber stick after one week. Reaching out to CS they replied to read their exclusion clause, where they don’t warranty their toys. Very poor reply for someone that always bought their product because of their quality. Unfortunately quality didn’t carry over to their toys. Time to move on.

I originally purchased the Front Range Medium for my dog (larger kelpie x lab) and he didn't like it front the first go. After doing the fitting adjustments the neck hole is too small to get off and on easily and the back belt was digging into my dog's shoulders from behind. I found the adjustment style of the buckles plain awful. The quality looked good and sturdy though. After consulting with Canine Spirit's customer service I switched to the Hi & Light model as the size was correct based on their feedback. For the same price this model seems pretty weak & flimsy - huge disappoiuntment after seeing the build quality of the Front Range. I do worry about it holding my 27kg dog back when a time comes. Whilst I would buy the Front Range if the fit matched my dog, I can't recommend the Hi & Light for the same price. Plenty of other harnesses would be better for less than half the price.

Ordered two harnesses from them as I couldn’t find them locally to try anywhere and after carefully trying both on my dog contacted them to send one back. At this stage everything went ok and the return was approved no issue. Paid for the postage to send back and awaited my refund. This is where the problem has hit. Ruffwear have decided to (for no known reason as they have not contacted me) to refund me £14.10 less for the one harness than what I paid. Will not be using their website again and certainly will be avoiding their products in future unless I can find them to try on first. Poor service.
