Personally, I would not recommend using Roto Rooter in the Cape area. We called for an outdoor hose spigot replacement ($10 part), and were consistently attempted to be upsold. We were told “we don’t use those $10 spigots, we’ll get you hooked up with one that’ll last a lifetime” by the guy on the phone, only to have our actual technician go grab a $50 Lowe’s part (literally said hold on I have to run to Lowe’s for it), came back and installed it in less than 20 minutes. The entire job start to finish took 20 minutes, the part was $50 and our total was $590. $50 in parts and $540 for less than half an hour of labor is absolutely heinously immoral and these guys should be ashamed. National average for a professional spigot replacement is $150-300 at the extreme ends. Roto Rooter pulled a con job and has lost our business, buyers beware they’re actively looking to screw you. Have called other plumbers since that have verified we got screwed in this deal.

I’ve used Roto-Rooter several times over the years and have always been satisfied with their service, which is why I called them again for a water leak issue. The plumber who came out was professional and courteous. Unfortunately, he was unable to locate the leak, and I was still charged $233. My water meter continues to show water usage, and when I shut off the main water valve, the meter immediately drops to zero, which clearly indicates there is a leak somewhere on the property. I called twice after the visit hoping to discuss the charge since the leak was never found. Instead, I was repeatedly told the leak was “most likely underground,” that the yard would need to be excavated, and that financing was available. At no point was there any meaningful discussion about the fact that I paid for leak detection but still had no diagnosis or resolution. I understand that not every leak can be located, but I expected better customer service and a willingness to address the outcome of the visit. Unfortunately, this experience has changed my opinion of the company. I will be looking elsewhere for future plumbing work and cannot recommend Roto-Rooter based on how this situation was handled

I made an appt for a blocked outdoor drain on the property. Given a 10-12 window. I took the morning off of work. At 10:40 they called to say they don't do outdoor drains. Then why make the appt?? Then they had 10dys to let me know that! I lost 1/2 day of work!!

Very pricey $425 just to come out and diagnose my Hotwater heater. It didn’t take 30 mins to diagnose. For the tech to not be sure if that was the problem or not then $800 more to replace the parts. On top of that he kept changing the price making his own prices. Then got smart because I kept questioning him. I would never go through this company again.

I hired Roto-Rooter to clear a blocked sewer line. After approximately 55 minutes, they told me the line was "collapsed" and could not be mechanically cleaned, then presented me with a sewer replacement estimate of approximately $10,000, urging me to proceed. Instead, I sought a second opinion. The very next day, another licensed plumbing contractor used heavier-duty sewer equipment and mechanically cleared the same line in less than 10 minutes. The sewer then functioned normally for approximately one week until I chose to replace the line because of existing root intrusion—not because it was collapsed. Based on my experience, the diagnosis and recommendation I received from Roto-Rooter proved to be inaccurate. I paid for a sewer line clearing that was never accomplished, yet was immediately steered toward a costly replacement. Consumers should obtain a second opinion before authorizing expensive sewer replacement work based solely on an initial diagnosis.

They are way overpriced and try selling things I didn’t need. They came out to my house and said they cleared the clog. I paid them but the following day I had water in my basement. I disputed the charge with my bank and won

If i could go this company negative 0.. I would....First of all technician arrived at my house with no parts or an idea on how to proceed with the job. He asked if I had the part already in which I did but he said that it wouldn't fit so he ask me what did I want to do. He offered to take me to a local store to get the right part in which I declined because if you are a service technician ho do you not have any parts on your truck...He went to a local hardware store to get the part, came back and installed it and it worked for about 10 minutes until the hose flew off from the water pressure which luckily he was still outside calculating my bill of $281.00 for replacing a kitchen sink sprayer...So basically I paid for him showing up because there were no parts on his truck and I paid for the part as well which was $12.00. So overall I paid $269.00 to get a kitchen sink sprayer installed...I will never use you guys again and I definitely wouldn't recommend you to anyone I know...Also I will be taking this to the BBB.
