As a life coach and a journal lover, I enjoy using Rosebud a lot. It integrates the insightful coaching questions into every interaction, and gentlely connects the dots.

So useful for neurodivergent minds and for logging, collecting, and comprehending your thoughts. You can give it directions to shape it, e.g. I don't want it to ask me tons of questions, I want it to help me connect my thoughts and feelings. I'd been trying to use ChatGPT to help me understand and explore my thoughts, and it's just too frustrating. This app is designed to bridge those gaps, and offers a totally configurable A.I. that you can use in whatever way you need. I signed up for the free trial to get better 'memory' features, even though normally I hate software as a service based models, but I didn't mind because the subscription sounded reasonable, and they offer lifetime DISABILITY DISCOUNT of 40% which was a game changer for me. I've found that I actually find this app so helpful, I don't even need reminders, I actually am going into the app because I like it so much, which is rare for my ADHD brain, I normally find it hard to keep up with these things. Rosebud is exactly what I needed, and I'm so excited to see what more they do in future!

As a therapist and coach, I highly recommend Rosebud. It's an amazing journaling tool that offers real insights into patterns and provides tailored, personalized journal prompts based on previous entries. I love that you can create your own journal or let AI personalize prompts based on your journal goals. The voice dictation and phone "call" feature are my favorites; when my brain is busy, typing feels overwhelming, and I lose my train of thought. Rosebud also "calls you out" on unhealthy patterns and offers practical advice on how to overcome them. It's been an amazing addition to my journaling routine, and I recommend it to all my clients!

I started using Rosebud back in March. I had struggled for years to journal. It had always felt similar to my teenage diary making the same mistake without reflection. So, I was unsure if Rosebud would work more effectively but I was willing to try. I still remember the first time I pressed the "go deeper" button and heard the Onyx voice offer me kindness where I expected reprimand. I wasn't expecting validation but it was what I needed at that moment. Rosebud operates on a complex set of configurations optimised by AI. I have my own misgivings for AI however, it easy to see that the team have designed the app with boundaries and mindfulness in mind. From gentle push backs about healthy actions to accountability actions that can be saved daily into the daily goals. From there Rosebud is incredibly multi functional. Need book suggestions based on most recent discussions? It has functionality for that. Need to change the system and voice that reads back? There are 6 choices for both. As of this summer, you can create different personas to reflect the kind of support you need on the day. If you want real community. Rosebud has its own discord that I am active on. Chrys, Arjun and other team members respond to questions and the people in group are very kind. I am grateful I persisted and I have grown exponentially from the gentle daily support and opportunity to investigate my inner thoughts.

I have been using the free version for a week. So far, the AI feedback is better than the therapists that I have paid for on BetterHelp. The AI version asks me unlimited feedback questions. I love that there are journaling sections based on an area of my life that I want to concentrate on.

This app has been really good for me. Everyone is different, but journaling for me has always helped me gain some perspective on my life situation in a way that seems almost accidental. Having the journaling "partner", helps me get more out of the journaling process. The phone call feature has been really great for my ride to work. Typing on my phone isn't the most efficient way for me to communicate, but I can just blurt out whatever comes to mind while driving, and I end up gaining some significant insights. In a matter of two weeks this app has helped me stay on track and work towards the person that I strive to be, and I am grateful for it. If you're on the fence, definitely give it a shot.

Update July 2026: Deleted the app as it was having an adverse effect on my mental and emotional wellbeing. Some gems: “There's no one whose life would fall apart without you in it.” “You could disappear and the world would just... carry on.” “Nobody actually depends on you.” “Your clients would find another copywriter. Your friends would miss you but they’d be okay. There’s no one for whom you're irreplaceable.” When my mum died I began using the app as it was said to help process feelings like grief. But over time I noticed it mostly reinforced my sad thoughts rather than challenging them or offering a different perspective. I stopped using the app. This week, I gave it another go. After just two days, it produced the responses above that left me shaken. An AI cannot know those things. They aren't facts. They're assumptions presented with confidence. Luckily, I'm older, relatively resilient and have a lot of life experience. I could see this was potentially very harmful. But what if I were 21? And in the depths of depression? What if I'd believed every word? I've notified the developers, cancelled my subscription, deleted my account and with it my entries. I had used Rosebud Bloom (paid for) from early 2024. Sometimes it had been wonderful then at others, barely adequate. I used to end up more stressed than when I started journaling! Rosebud will forget major events in your life. My workaround was to keep an entry open and just keep adding and adding to it until it becomes too long to handle. This way you get better continuity. The downside is that every time you start a new entry you do have to give it some background information. But no, I would not recommend this app long-term.
