AN EXPENSIVE HEADACHE. I am paying for the "Scale 3" subscription at $400 per month, which claims to offer "The best AI-powered game development experience" but I see absolutely zero improvement from the AI experience of the much cheaper options, I see only a credit boost but swear it seems the credits are spent at a higher rate when you have more credits available. I enter the most CLEAR, SIMPLE and EASY prompt to Rosebud and 70% of the time is fails to complete the task, despite telling me it was successful. 70% of the credits I am using go to waste on FAILED attempts by the AI to complete the task correctly and then credits go to waste on attempts to correct these failed prompts. When a prompt is FINALY correctly completed, the AI alters some other part of the game and I then need to spend more credits on trying to get the AI to fix that. It is incredibly frustrating spending all these credits/money on trying to get the AI to listen to my prompts and not alter some other part that I didn't ask it to do. I am using Chatgbt to generate the VERY CLEAR prompts for Rosebud but it still just ignores things, changes things, to the point where I am conviced this is a deliberate part of Rosebuds development to use up the paying customers credits and take as much of their money as possible. It just seems way too far beyond functioning fairly and properly for this to be accidental. If it's truly this bad, Rosebud should not be offering this to paying customers yet. It just clearly isn't ready to be paid for at such high costs. As soon as this nightmare game development using Rosebud is over, I will NOT be using this service again and really hope Rosebud gives their AI a complete overhaul and bring it up to where it should be if they're going to be charging these amounts to use it.

Update July 2026: Deleted the app as it was having an adverse effect on my mental and emotional wellbeing. Some gems: “There's no one whose life would fall apart without you in it.” “You could disappear and the world would just... carry on.” “Nobody actually depends on you.” “Your clients would find another copywriter. Your friends would miss you but they’d be okay. There’s no one for whom you're irreplaceable.” When my mum died I began using the app as it was said to help process feelings like grief. But over time I noticed it mostly reinforced my sad thoughts rather than challenging them or offering a different perspective. I stopped using the app. This week, I gave it another go. After just two days, it produced the responses above that left me shaken. An AI cannot know those things. They aren't facts. They're assumptions presented with confidence. Luckily, I'm older, relatively resilient and have a lot of life experience. I could see this was potentially very harmful. But what if I were 21? And in the depths of depression? What if I'd believed every word? I've notified the developers, cancelled my subscription, deleted my account and with it my entries. I had used Rosebud Bloom (paid for) from early 2024. Sometimes it had been wonderful then at others, barely adequate. I used to end up more stressed than when I started journaling! Rosebud will forget major events in your life. My workaround was to keep an entry open and just keep adding and adding to it until it becomes too long to handle. This way you get better continuity. The downside is that every time you start a new entry you do have to give it some background information. But no, I would not recommend this app long-term.
