DO NOT TRUST RICK CASE VOLKSWAGEN IN…
DO NOT TRUST RICK CASE VOLKSWAGEN IN WESTON! What was once thought to be a repretable dealership is now run by very distasteful & extremely dishonest employees which is quite disappointing of Rick Case to represent their company with. On 10/13 I arrived in the later part of the afternoon with my mother to look at used Hondas, as she unknowningly parked in the Volkswagen area but we were gladly welcomed in by everyone there, even while she repeatedly asked for "Honda used cars sales". They all insisted she was in the correct department, sat us down with who they then told us was a Salesman yet come to find out is a Product Specialist, named Farooq Gatta. My mother insisted upon buying me an accident free, low mileage, $15,000 car, out right. I honestly didn't know why we were even there to begin, as I am more realistic & am also aware of the costly upkeep of a used German car. I was even against walking into a VW establishment to begin with because I also know just how luxurious they can be & wasn't prepared to be disappointed. However, we did. We met Farooq, who talked us into looking at a beautiful, "As Is", 2019 Volkswagen Jetta SE, offering out the door with tags, title, & registration, for $15,600, after getting the price reduced by a whopping $300 after the 2 1/2 hr wait for the "approval' with his Sales Manager Anthony Lidondici that is. Naturally we took this 2019 Volkswagen Jetta SE, with not even 51,000 miles on it, marked 'As Is', which appeared to be in excellent condition, also under $16 grand, on a test drive, as it did state ONE minor accident in 2022, yet, it has been listed for sale since then. Interesting. The Jetta showed no issues on the test drive, & the dashboard was clear minus a yellow low tire pressure gauge which I brought to Farooqs attention & inquired on which he stated he will have it checked out & fixed before the car is purchased. During the quick, 5 minute, bumper-to-bumper test drive up the street & around the corner, I continuously asked Farooq "so what's wrong with this car", he assured me nothing, that it was perfect, the car merely had a fender bender, & that there were no mechanical issues, then repeatedly announced about how "I own 2 Volkswagens myself", as if that had any relevance in me buying this car. Bottom line, my mother talked me into the car at her expense, in my name, with no Warranty, Why? "Because it was Rick Case". So I drove off of the lot & not even 10 minutes away the car had a catastrophic failure. The EPS light, the Check Engine light, & the Exclamation Point in the triangle, all lit up in red on the dashboard meaning only one thing-that the internal engine components were failing making the car incredibly dangerous to drive. When I called immediately the Sales Manager was not at his desk, so I left a voicemail informing him of the issue & that I'm returning the car immediately. I also called Farooq with no answer who then called me back within 5 mins & told me to wait until the following a.m. to bring the car back. It was late by this time, I was beyond aggravated, but hesitantly agreed & hung up. The next a.m., understanding more about the condition of the car from the screen shot of the dashboard I took upon driving home & speaking with a mechanic, I called him & insisted he arrange for a tow truck to come to my home & pick up the vehicle. He said "no, that I must drive the car back myself". I explained that I absolutely do not feel safe driving it, nor will I be held responsible if the engine were to seize. The dealership showed absolutely zero regard for my safety or the cars engine as he then said, "Fine, then I will personally come get it". Upon my persistence a tow truck was sent. We followed & I insisted that after this her $ on both debit cards be returned. 2 hours there later again & a Service Advisor stating that "they can fix the car" & me refusing their "couple of hours to fix the problem" remedy (aka clear the dashboard codes up to 100 miles again), as I know that this common EPS issue takes anywhere from 1-3 days to repair--we took her necessary documents & refund receipts & finally were able to leave to never return again. 2 days ago Farooq had the audacity to call me inquiring, "if I've found a car yet & its too bad that I didn't keep the 2019 as nothing was wrong with it. The tank cap was just loose". Seriously?! That doesn't cause the EPC light to light up!!! I might be female, I might even be blonde, but I am not stupid. As far as the dishonesty & the theft intentions from the people at this company, well, they've messed with the wrong one, because I'm about to blow this review up on every single site possible known on the public web. Don't purchase the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta SE STILL listed for sale AGAIN: VIN 3VWCB7BUXKM272505, as they clear the codes up to 100 miles, long enough to get you off of the lot & to collect your $.
