My tutor was horrible. In the span of 10 2 hour classes with him my reading score didn't boost because he was a very inefficient tutor. I was already scoring 700s on the reading, he knew, and proceeded to explain for 3-7 or so minutes each question on a practice exercise even though I got them right and his explanations were surface level. He would mostly come 5 minutes late, and would cut the meeting short by a lot every time. He ended 45 minutes before the actual ending for whatever reason. To top things off, he sent an email to my parents about my "disrespectful behavior" which came as a shock because for one thing, he didn't even tell me our at least warn me of how I am making him uncomfortable and for another, he made false claims in that email saying how I "allegedly" made loud noises to cut off what he was saying when all I did was accidentally graze my hand over my microphone. Very dissatisfied.
Very.

Just to point out a few misleading…
Just to point out a few misleading information in your response. Revolution never came back after rematch with the 2nd tutor Rachel to get my feedback, they would assume everything is fine, this is the assumption Revolution made, not directly from me. Due to the experience of the 1st tutor, I basically told my daughter to be patient and make effort to work this out with the new tutor, she did listen and endure until she decided to give it up as she can no longer take it any more due to the consistent poor tutoring quality. The last session before she quit is extremely poor, the tutor Rachel asked my daughter to pulle out three articles from her school portal (nothing prepared by Rachel at all), and had her read the articles for 40 minutes, with no clue what those readings for, the class has been dragged so long and it did not even finish before the reading is done. Rachel was so distracted during the session (maybe checking her mobile) not even paid too much attention about what my daughter was reading. So where is the instruction part? Isn't a good tutor supposed to instruct, guide, summarize and provide valuable comments to the student? My daughter said Rachel is not even better than her history teacher in her school, so why would I pay $200 while gaining nothing out of it? Is this what Revolution calls a qualified tutor? If it is, then that justified my reason why I have no intent to continue with future tutoring.. as it is a total waste of money and time. Revolution is so disgraceful to not recognize their poor service but continue to press me to use the rest of the hours, They said NO REFUND no matter what.
As you mentioned about the satisfactory guarantee terms, this was never disclosed to me before entering the service in any shape of form by your sales rep. That is what I called scam, can you prove that it was even discussed and obtained my consent? It is my right to know before hands not afterwards. I don't even have a contract with you guys. Is it even legal to have no contract per law?
If I have had been made aware, do you think I would end up landing in such situation to go public for what the family is facing, paid 5.2K and only got 10.5 hours lousy service? This is criminal.
Also just to clarify, in order to settle this issue, I proposed several solutions, one of which is to pay 10.5 used hours regardless of its poor quality, which is around $2K, the Revolution is to refund unused hours to me for $3K. They declined all solutions. As once the money is in their pocket, they won’t give it out even they are at fault, and service isn’t even provided. if it is not scam, tell me what it is.
Revolution does not deserve the trust of parents. Parents, rethink before you decide to enter the service, a total disgraceful company.. don't waste your money and time of your kid, there must be a lot of better ones out there, Revolution is not one of them.

This may be for kids who are very diligent self starters but if you have a kids who needs any kind of prompting it will be a total waste of money. They never even check if your kids do the practice tests

Hi TJ,
I'm very sorry to hear this has been your experience, especially since part of our curriculum is teaching students to be self-starters and independent learners.
I would love the opportunity to get your feedback to your tutor's faculty leader so they can look into your experience more and provide any additional required training for the tutor.
It would help me find out who your tutor is if you would email us at [email protected] with your name and your student's name.
Thank you for choosing a Revolution Prep professional online tutor to work with your family.

My sons were left hanging
My sons were left hanging. One tutor had a family emergency and no one responded to our attempts to reschedule; the other tutor resigned and no one at Rev Prep told us or rescheduled the remaining time.
I’ve requested a refund but there’s even a lack of follow up by their administration.
I wish I could comment about the actual product instead I left feeling taken for a ride.

Hi Disappointed Mom,
My name is Eric.
I'm very sorry to hear about your experience.
While I'm sure you understand family emergencies at a time like this (and even some sudden departures), that you had no communication or help rescheduling isn't acceptable at all.
Unfortunately there's no user information here that helps me connect the dots and look up you and your child's tutoring program.
If you wouldn't mind sending an email to [email protected] with a little more information, I'm happy to help look into this for you so at the very least we can make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else!

Don't trust this company - do local SAT prep.
Don't trust this company. I signed up my son with Revolution Prep a year prior to him needing to take SAT. The company ashured me one year of working with them gives ample time to improve his score. They promised score improvement over time, a custom-tailored approach and told me that they would establish the baseline of how he is doing now and to which lebel they can increase his score. They pushed me several times to buy larger and larger packages of hours. My son's SAT score started at 1,100, they told me they can get him to 1,300 based on home tests (possibly even 1,400). I spent a significant amount of $$ to have my son study with them once a week over a year. He took his second SAT this month and we just got the score - 1,100. In addition to 0 score improvement, I could tell there was nothing "custom" about their approach to my son's learning at all. I also was promised that my son would work with th same tutor all along (it was very important to me as he doesn't form relationships easily) - but both the tutor and account manager we started with quit. Perhaps because they realized this company has no integrity and doesn't do anything they promise they would do?

Hi Olga,
My name's Eric.
I'm very sorry to hear about your experience. I understand how disappointing it is to take a test again but see no positive change in score.
Unfortunately we can’t guarantee score improvement as we can’t control the official test day, the environment or what happens, and there are several other factors that can impact a student’s performance.
[We do however offer a 30-day guarantee: If you are unsatisfied for any reason during the first 30 days (or 6 hours of tutoring), we will refund your money, no questions asked.]
You are correct that we encourage tutors and students to stay paired once paired, and I understand this was very important to you and your son.
I’m glad it sounds like you both liked your initial tutor.
But like any organization, sometimes team members transition out for a variety of reasons—and new team members join us! In these instances, the academic advisors do their very best to make equal or better tutor–student matches.
I’ve passed along your feedback because, like our students, we’re always learning and improving.

Im a student in a school that is using revolution prep to study for the ACT/SAT and the teacher was 5 minutes late to the class and he was in his car driving while he was trying to teach us...(TRYING) We never learn in the class and he gets annoyed for everything. I heavily advise you to not use revolution prep because it does not help at all. They gave us books and he did not tell us to open the book we had to pay for not even once.

My daughter participated diligently
My daughter participated diligently in the program, completing all assignments and homework. No change in her SAT score; very disappointed. She is a hard worker with a 3.6/4 GPA.
I received a response from Michelle S. who attempted to blame my daughter- that doesn't sound like "standing by our families".
Response from Revolution PrepJul 12, 2019
Thank you for your feedback, Mark. We are disappointed to hear you daughter didn’t experience the score improvement she wished to achieve, and that you were dissatisfied with the program. We stand by our families, so please do call us at 860-924-7334 to discuss options.
